We did offer him a contract renewal with slightly less wages but that is not acceptable for him and his agent has tried to find suitable offers for him which have been maybe 2 or 3 clubs which have enquired about him.So either he takes a wage cut signs or is frozen out of the squad.Maybe we don't want a similar situation to Rabiot.

Yeah that's good point. Arsenal are playing 6 friendlies (5 for most teams), and their season starts same week as us. Not sure why we settled on 3 when we have total new coach and new system.

friendlies cost money. you need to book hotels, meals, tickets, security, staff...etc.

club can't afford that it's broke. it's paying 20m for 4th goalie. no room for extra friendlies.

Yes but the lighting condition changes in a matter of seconds. I guess it only happens in Scandinavian countries.

Despite the awkward performances there's clearly a distinctive difference in the playstyle, both in short passpossession, how they change flexibly positions (how Gatti moves up, Cambiaso free roams from fullback etc), how they regularly overload on the left in possession so Weah gets acres of space on right to run into etc.


But besides its being all new, it's mainly question of quality in the final 3rd shot creating. We don't have any AM but 3 CMs so far (two of who bring fresh new boost in quality and playstyles), getting one who will help alot. But most importantly our attacking looks so toothless so far for two reasons:


1. Our wing play is supbar in there's friendlies because our wingers so far have had no end product. Weah is speed merchant, Mbangula/Sekulov just fill in Next Gen players. And Yildiz can beat anyone 1 on 1 in his minutes so far but lacks the final ball and speed to do much out wide yet. So getting 2 starting wingers or 1 starting winger and Chiesa back in fold will key.


2. For 2nd. Vlahovic besides the usual slow getting going in his touches or finishes, looks kinda lost in this constant possession play and interchangeable positions in attack phases that Motta wants to inplent. I seen Gatti, Locatelli, Danilo move into channels after short passes to get chances more then Vlaho. He seems lost, more of a poacher that needs service from wide play, where we been lacking in quality in this new system so far.

We played 3 real friendlies, Nurneberg, Brest and vs Atletico. I don't really count the game vs our Next Gen side, not only because the intensity was so low as heck, glorified organised practice. But also the match was abandoned and cancelled after 50 minutes due to pitch invasion by fans that allways happens in this tie.

Maybe, but I recall I think this may be Juve approach (regardless of coach), because most of the recent summers we done 3 or 4 friendlies max.
