We need Caceres as in we need a defender more, but Guarin would be more useful quality wise (instead of depth wise), so I really hope we use non-EU on him and loan some okish defender instead.

But if they fail to impress at primavera level, why the heck should we use them at the first team? I haven't heard of any fullback being impressive for the primavera team.

Guarin on Twitter:

"Sono molto grato alla gente del Porto. Qualsiasi sia la decisione del club, io resterò un DRAGAO a vita. Questo comunque non vuol dire che me ne vado, semplicemente sto spiegando i miei sentimenti a tutti i miei tifosi. Grazie a tutti"

"i'm very grateful to Porto supporters, whatever are the club choise i will be DRAGAO forever. this doesn't mean that i leave the club, simply i'm explaining my feelings at all my fans. thanks to all"

Not a fullback...but a CB or DM in Magnusson has been very impressive. Recently gaining a new 4 year contract. His decent form and the faith and hope he is inspiring in our coaching team likely played a part in the Sorensen transfer, given that Feddy was our ONLY backup CB in the first team squad...with chiellini our starting LB. I hope the lad gets a chance this season to step onto the field with the first XI. Also the french african kid...Prince D. But as you say, mate...the major brightlights in our primavera seem to be everywhere but at fullback! Typical eh...but I remain more than happy with the progress of the aforementioned iceman and african frog, also schiavone, libertazzi is now back from injury, padovan has been doing very well...ruggiero and de silvestro...beltrame. Lots of reasons to be cheerful for our blossoming primavera.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but I don't think Magnusson is at Sørensen's level (getting first team app.) just yet. Do you know how long the average contract length for primavera players is? If it's like 2-3 years and Magnusson got 4, I'd say that's impressive, but I fear that 4 year is what everyone's getting.

Primavera team is btw playing Modena tomorrow. I think Magnusson is likely to start.

I dont know what more a 19 year old has to do at Juve in order to get a long term contract, Sorensen was better than anyone expected when we signed him. Before anyone says it it yes or course being Italian would of helped :D
