Maybe this is an opportunity to make the squad stronger (assuming it's loan + obligation). I would also like a defender.

And for once, maybe some people won't complain that we're getting quantity for the squad instead of quality (not my opinion, I haven't him since the Europa League games for Porto).

I certainly wouldn't be against signing him, looked a decent player on the very few times I have seen him.

He just seems quite a high profile/expensive signing for the bench.

I was under the impression that he wasn't wanted and this is their chance to make an "opportunist" transfer.
