So you're really standing by your statement huh?

A player who never played at RB for more than 1/2 matches is ">>>" than a natural RB who has been playing that position for at least a decade.

What does that have to do with Grygera's talent? Motta's a natural RB who has been playing that position his whole life. He still sucks. How is that an argument? "The guy played RB his whole life".

My buddy's played RB his whole life. Must be better than Pepe.

I've seen games where Grygera has touched the ball 2 or 3 times in the other team's half the entire match! He does nothing of impact. He just stands there in a stationary position the whole match hoping to avoid any confrontation or make any plays. He backs off guys by 20 yards because he can't run or tackle!

In a couple halves of Pepe at fullback I've seen him make sliding challenges at midfield from behind forwards or close guys down to the corner flag and strip the ball. I saw him stop Pato's gay step-overs 1 on 1. Plus, he's wayyyy better offensively.

The fact he played many times at RB makes him much more experienced and capable to play there than Pepe. Pepe just had few minutes in that position, so there is no way of saying he's better than Grygera.

He does nothing of impact? Ever heard of sense of positioning in defending? Many of Grygera's work goes unnoticed. You're not the first one to say that too.

Pepe may provide more than him in attacking, but that's just obvious since he's a winger. Defense-wise, Grygera is miles better, which is the first and most important thing for a defender.

lol @ sense of positioning. That's the ONLY thing any Grygera supporter has ever said. It's such a cop-out full of shit response. He's so limited that the only thing he can do is stay in line with our 2 CBs. He's never out of place because he doesn't even think about attacking! Not even attacking, but just getting up the field to receive a pass back from our RM.

He had some great positioning when he let that scrub from Red Bulls score on him. Fucking shameful. He can't even change direction. Great positioning, like when he stopped covering Matri's run and sprints out of the picture so he's not to blame lol. Better defensively than Pepe? How, because he never puts in a challenge? He gets backed down into his box every time a winger has the ball.

Let's not forget his assists to the other team last year. LOL. People have made Youtube compilations on this guy's blunders.

"Miles better" than Pepe defensively? He's not even miles better defensively than Alex.

First of all, cut this "lol" thing. It makes you look like a 13 year old gay.

Did I ever say he is good in attacking? No. Does he know he suck at attacking? Yes. Grygera's strongest point is defending, which in fact suits Krasic the most. It's useless comparing a winger's ability to attack with that of a fullback.

Never puts in a challenge? Cáceres always used to put in challenges. What a great defender he is!

On the Alex thing; Right.

Grygera was one player(amongst others) who I wanted out of the club this summer. He stayed and DN is getting the absolute best out of him. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

Easily our best full back so far this season. Both sides too.

Is he a great FB and something to build a defense around? Absolutely not, but he is playing very well recently I'd have to say he's much better at being a FB than Pepe right now.

He's good for a backup LW/RW. You could make a good argument on his price for a backup though.
Yes, the price exactly. We paid 2m for a year loan, which is already a rip-off, plus his buy-out clause around 7/8m(?). Totally not worth it. I'm guessing he will be replaced by the Hungarian kid Baloz whateverhisnameis for next season.

It is remarkably foolish to be dismissive of the importance of positional sense for a defender.

Then again, it's no more than I would expect from someone who wanks over the thought of Pepe playing at right back.

MikeM still having wet dreams of seeing Simone Pepe at RB

Get over it mate, he's not a FB and never will be a good one. Grygera isnt a fantastic player by any means, but Id have him there over Pepe any day of the week.
