"#Juventus reached a preliminary agreement with #Porto for the final purchase of Francisco #Conceição.
Despite the rumors that were pointing towards figures between €20-25M, #Porto has always asked for at least €30M, as the release clause of the player would increase to €45M.
#Porto had received several offers for #Conceição from #Everton, #NottinghamForest and #Leipzig, that were waiting to see if #Juve would close the deal or not and the Portuguese club would have never accepted offers lower than the release clause, preferring to let it expire and to sell the player at higher figures or at least the value of the new release clause at €45M.
#Juventus closed the deal for a sum that could be closer to €31-32M, including taxes.
The key difference is that #Juventus will pay this figure over 4 years, making the deal fiscally lighter compared to paying the full release clause in a single payment.
For the official announcement, #Porto is waiting for a signed document by #Conceição that confirms that he is waivering the 20% of the transfer fee, as part of the agreements on the clause.
#Conceição has shown a strong desire to join #Juventus and a great love to these colors, rejecting offers from the clubs mentioned before.
Initially, the previous #Juventus management had no plans to buy #Conceição and if #Giuntoli was still there, #Conceição would have not been purchased. But the new management decided to move forward with the deal."
