Quite odd to have no option to buy on such an expensive loan, if he does well here then Porto will obviously raise their price next summer and some PL team will eventually outbid us and we end up basically paying that much on a dry loan just to groom him for Porto to make profits on…

We do need wingers, but this deal structure literally makes no sense.

Can negotiate a deal next summer then, can be that Chico still remember his Ajax time.
Or we could negotiate one now and get some security on him.

clearly the club cant agree on option/obligation.

Lets just get bodies through the door
I get that we need bodies but this is unbelievably stupid.

We are paying up to 10m for the loan for one season for a guy who has achieved little in his career. If he does well we have no security over the final price or anything to prevent another club taking him. A loan fee that high should effectively be a down payment on a transfer.

For a club with our financial issues it is crazy. That plusvalenza on Huijsen is not far wiped out with a loan. I think we need to wait for more sources on the deal because it is odd.

Yes, without option this deal makes no sense.

It’s the Alcaraz of this mercato.

I don’t get this deal at all, 10M package for a dry loan makes zero sense.

I really hope that there’s some gentlemen’s agreement behind the scenes or that the reports are inaccurate, this doesn’t sound logical at all.

I get that, but this is Porto, we're never going to sign one of their assets on loan with option to buy, we're just not. I'm not praising the formula of the deal, it would be nice to make it more long term, but like I said I almost dont care right now because we need bodies through the door by any means, this move doesn't mean Giountoli gets a pass from me neither, all I care right now is getting the squad complete, one way or another, I'll worry about next season, next season. I know this sounds short term but this is what lack of planning and alot of time wasted has got us.

To be fair, I think we can discuss buying him in future. For now, loan will do.
It would have made sense if he was in his final year of his contract next season, but he has another 3 years. Porto are a difficult team to negotiate with, If we struggled now, it will be just as difficult if not more the next time. Desperate move.

Let's wait for more info . We have 7 more days, desperate at this time seems too soon.
