Frank Rijkaard in the frame for Paris Saint-Germain coaching position
The Ligue 1 side are continually being linked with a new coach and they have now allegedly set their sights on the former Netherlands and Barcelona boss

Paris Saint-Germain have approached Saudi Arabia coach Frank Rijkaard to take on the position of head coach at the joint Ligue 1 table-toppers, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Sporting director Leonardo is believed to be unhappy with the performances under current trainer Antoine Kombouare and could decide to part company with the 48-year-old if PSG fail to reach the knockout stages of the Europa League this week.

The Parisians are already lining up replacements and have previously been linked with Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez, but they have now reportedly turned their attention to Rijkaard instead.

The Dutchman was appointed Saudi Arabia coach six months ago, but PSG are hopeful of luring him back to Europe this winter and have already been in touch with the former Barcelona and Netherlands boss about a potential move.

However, Paris Saint-Germain could face a tough task in luring Rijkaard away from his current job as he is under contract with Saudi Arabia.

Pretty poor game between Lorient and Marseille in the first half hour. Lorient troubling Marseille on the break, with their fast counter attacking football though. Interesting to see how Joel Campbell does for Lorient. He's been lively but lacking in end product so far.

Marseille having officially dropped Lucho in the past few weeks have now even changed their tactical setup. They're now playing a straight 4-4-2 as opposed to the 4-2-3-1 they used to play to accommodate Lucho. The 4-4-2 looks quite static though, as they're playing with M'Bia and Diarra in the central midfield positions, both pure DM's. I just wonder where the creativity is supposed to come from.

Amalfitano made some interesting comments before today's game against Lorient(his former team). He said its completely different playing for Marseille, he said in Lorient there was more collectivism and team play, he said that the Marseille team is full of selfish players, who don't make even the most obvious of passes.

To be honest, he does have a point. Lorient under Gourcuff play some neat passing football. Gourcuff really has done a great job over the years with a very modest budget.

Oh shit, turning point in the game. Remy was too fast for Kone, he got one on one with the keeper and was taken down by Kone. Red card.

Joel Campbell taken off after another disappointing display. He still hasn't got going for Lorient, looks like he won't be ready for Arsenal yet, most probably we'll have to loan him out for another year.

Hazard Vs Pastore today. Could be the biggest game of the season. Personally i think Hazard is having a slightly better season up till now, but its very close and you could argue either way. Lets see who comes out on top tonight.

Ya, but apparently he had a good game against Bilbao, didn't see it but heard he was good. He has been quite poor over the past few weeks for PSG.
