Charlie Davies: Caps Phenomenal Week - 8/15/2009 12:16:24 PM

Update:
Davies netted two goals for his French club side Sochaux as they lost 3-2 to Bordeaux on Saturday.

Recommendation:
Of all the forwards in the American soccer program, who had Charlie Davies to be the star of the group? He has added touch and class to his incredible speed and has emerged as the top forward in American soccer.

Came on in 47th minute, scored in the 61st and 90th, against the best team in France. Very impressive.

Sochaux is my team now because of Charlie. Without a doubt. Hope he gets top ten in scoring.
Charlie was brought in to replace Mevlut Erding who went to PSG. Looks like he's having quite a good start there. Sochaux aren't a bad team, Boudebouz and Dalmat are rather creative players. Davies would do well with midfielders like that behind him.

Dalmat is very good for sure, really like his passes. With Charlie up top Dalmat can put in through balls all day because of my boy's speed.

Stephane Dalmat? I haven't heard about him in years.
He's been around to a few clubs over the past few years, Santander and Bordeaux recently. But with Sochaux he's found a fit I believe.

I remember watching him with Inter years ago and thought he was out of place. It was always obvious he has talent though.

He's been in the Ligue for all those years you haven't heard about him.

@Andy, true, Boudebouz too is a creative player. Watch out for him in the next game, he plays mostly on the right wing. He's a 19 year old Frenchman of Algerian origin. Decent prospect.

Hope so too. You guys have a wealth of prospects coming up. Latest news say that Meghni is going to play for you guys now. Hassan Yebda is also close to a call-up. If Boudebouz opts to play for Algeria. Then you will have some midfield.

This looks very sexy.

Yeah, Meghni and Yebda played against Uruguay and we won 1 - 0 :D. Meghni was a little shy and invisible in his play at first (maybe because of the atmosphere au 5 Juillet), but he's a player I like a lot. He's relax on the ball, tricky, has great vision and likes a lot to be involved in the attack. Whereas Ziani tends to drop a little deeper for helping our build-up. They complement each other perfectly. And Yebda seems to be the better DM we have. Seriously, the DM position has always annoyed me before, because we always were kind of average there. BTW, good formation !

Very impressive first half by Marseille; Lille just couldn't do anything. They are so solid defensively this season and they have brought a lot of muscle to their midfield. I think they will have a decent champions league campaign.

Vive l'OM.

Yes, DM's have always been your problem in the NT. Mansouri has been one of the few good players in that position in the past few years. Lamouchia(spelling?) isn't doing too bad either recently.

Pjanić is about to explode scored his first goal for Lyon yesterday in the Champions League, I don't know what happened last season but at Metz he was very good. Anyways, the other new signings looked good as well, Lopez, Cissokho, and of course, Bastos.
