He is the greatest captain and player in our history
Your seriously saying Totti is better than Giuseppe Giannini ?
Purleez... Totti aint fit to lick his boots

    ... Agostino Di Bartolomei...

...Not too mention the likes of Roberto Pruzzo, Giacomo Losi, Pedro Manfredini
    or Falcao

I am saying he is the best, he might not always have the best attitude, but he is one of the greatest of all-time.

Different is Totti isnt past it, he is worth it!
7,5 mio € for a club that risks bankruptcy it's really worth it?

And please, don't bring Del Piero in this, really. As you said he is everything Totti isn't (and I'm thankfull of it, I must say :p)...

He is actually... For the same reason del piero is worth everypenny of his wage and more.... They both bring far more than they earn into the club through merchandising...

Every club needs that player... the likes of dp , totti and beckham bring in massive amounts of money that pay far more than their own wage... without even stepping on the pitch

I wasnt asking about his attitude... you said he was the best player in romas history and i asked whether you really think hes better than those i mentioned.

I know alot of roma fans and have spoken to many more... but i have never before today heard any one of them say totti is better than the prince... personally i find that laughable to the extreme

Personally... his attitude doesnt bother me... hes a great player and a man his team follow.

People that criticise his attitude... for me are mostly hypocrites...

They condemn Totti but cheered for montero who in his hey day did far worse things on the pitch than totti could even imagine....

They condemn totti but cheered for davids who is widely accepted as one of the most disruptive players of recent times, did worse things than totti on the pitch and is reportedly a woman basher...

Football as with all sports needs characters... Whether they be the likes of roy keane, davids, totti or the likes of ciro, dp and maldini...
    They are all needed

Yeah, for merchandising having such players is important.
But increasing the wage of Totti means spending most of the money gained from the merchandising to pay his wage.
Roma's got big problems, I really don't think it's wise doing this kind of things. Totti is the captain, he should give an example to his teammates reducing his wage or at least not increasing it.

You forget that in the new deal, totti has handed a much higher than before percentage of his image rites to roma... as such, he has in reality taken a pay cut and given roma a significant increase in funds

Sorry, but I see a contradiction in there.

    - He's the player his team follows
    - He gets suspended, has a bad attitude, can't handle the pressure of high responsabilities.

What can come out of this?

I dont get it Isha? How is that so? He has been the symbol and star of the team, pratical dragging the team with him, I have no doubt where we'd be without Totti, would ever of won in 2001? Would we of done so well last season?

He is apart of Roma herself! He is everything to the people of Rome as well, he has a city, and the legions of fans around the world, who ALL look to him as our Capitano!! And you say he cant handle the pressure of high responsibility? Thats not even going into the Azzuri, who look to him as well, Euro2004 is not a good example though, Totti was a fool there and he knows it...

REGARDLESS of what ANYONE says, nearly EVERY team in the world, rely on ONE PERSON. More then anyone...It is the same with Roma and Italy, without Totti especially if we had a similar season to this one, we'd of been relegated.

"cant handle high responsibilty"? Tell me a player in all the world with MORE responsibility?
