    HERE IT IS!!!

    FERRARI F14 T

    big hopes for this s.o.b.

    DAI!

Ferrari has launched its 2014 car, F14 T, at its base in Maranello, Italy.

The car carries the hopes of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen this year as the team enters Formula One's new turbo era with one of the most talented driver line-ups on the grid. It features a different take on the new 2014 nose regulations compared to the McLaren, Williams, Force India and Lotus seen so far, with a sloping but still odd looking nose cone. Ferrari has also stuck with the pull-rod front suspension design it has been using since 2012.

New technical director James Allison was present at the launch in Ferrari's race bay but was not involved with most of the design process of the car, which was overseen by Pat Fry, Fabio Montecchi and chief designer Nikolas Tombazis. Legendary Ferrari designer Rory Byrne was also consulted on the project.

Team principal Stefano Domenicali said the new additions to the technical team and the upgrades to the wind tunnel, which is now operational at Maranello, have been crucial for Ferrari to make a step forward.

"In the last couple of years the changes and investment we have made in Formula One has been very important and significant," Domenicali said. "Some have been spectacular in terms of names that were in the Formula One world and some others less, but nevertheless the changes were very important.

"Not only the organisation of the people, but also investment in the new windtunnel and tools of the simulation that are really important to make sure all the group of engineers can make the difference."

The new car is the second to break cover after McLaren's MP4-29 on Friday and the first of the Ferrari-engined cars to emerge.
Fernando Alonso is aiming to emulate Michael Schumacher by winning his first title with Ferrari in his fifth year at the team.

Schumacher won five titles in total with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004, but went four years between 1996 and 1999 without winning the championship. Alonso, now in his fifth year at the team, is hoping the new F14 T will offer him the chance to win the title this year.

"Schumacher won in his fifth year with Ferrari, I am in my fifth year now so hopefully I can repeat some of the success he had," he said. "Obviously in the last four years we had some opportunities - in 2010 and 2012 we were very close to winning the championship - so this year we will try again and hopefully it will be a good one."

Alonso could face his stiffest competition from within his own team as he goes up against Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. He is confident both have the ability to deliver if Ferrari can provide the car.

"Kimi and me as a team should be quite strong on paper because we had success in the past in Formula One," he said. "But you need to discover every year and we start from zero. If we do well we will have a very strong team and we can deliver some good results for Ferrari and if we don't do well as a team some other teams will have a best pair of drivers. It's up to us to deliver and do a good job."

Raikkonen said only time will tell if his partnership with Alonso comes out on top.

"Will we be the strongest team? I hope that we are going to be obviously," Raikkonen said. "I think we will both try very hard and we both want to win. Time will tell what will happen and if we can bring the championship back to Ferrari, but I would say there is a lot of other things, especially with the new rules. We are more than capable, both of us, to be up there and fighting for championships."
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo says Ferrari is ready to win championships again in Formula One with its new F14 T launched on Saturday.

The new car broke cover via an online launch and carries the hopes of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen this year. Montezemolo, who has been critical of the team's struggle to beat Red Bull in recent years, says he thinks Ferrari is ready to return to the top in the new V6 turbo era of Formula One.

"Now it is time to win," he said. "I have a lot of confidence in the new technical director James Allison and in the work that our people have made in the engine. It's a very complicated engine and very complicated system and I think at the beginning of the season reliability will be crucial. Whenever we have the new rules it is difficult from the beginning to find out who is competitive, but our goal is to be on top and do our best. Domenicali has done some innovation within the team and I am very confident."

Montezemolo also backed his two drivers to deliver to a high standard this year.

"I'm confident because we have a strong team and I think we have all the ingredients to be very successful," he added. "I'm pleased to have Kimi back, Kimi was the last driver to win the championship with us. Fernando has made fantastic seasons by achieving second place in the last four years."

I agree. McLaren's looks best. Ferrari's looks like a vacuum cleaner with the nose.

Also, ZoSo is an annoying fanboy for putting the other cars in spoilers.

Today TJ13 has learnt that Renault are having trouble with their engine, specifically the crankshaft and it was described as a flaw. For months now TJ13 have been hearing rumours of a certain team having problems with their engines and that they just could not make it last.

This has to do with the internal vibrations that a V6 engine creates as apposed to a V8, the latter running much more smoothly. Add in the complexity of the turbo harvesting power as well as KERS… Tomorrow we may see Renault (and perhaps other engined teams) circulating at relatively low speeds so if track times appear slow, it is because they are.
    don't know if it's true... :xfinger::tuttosport:
