I'm not sure. When I create a team I always look to get the players that can play in a variety of positions, so I can play every tactics known to man.

First thing I notice about your tactics is the distance between midfield and defence, especially your wingers, I imagine you're getting killed ont he flanks. I'd bring down the wingers to the MR and ML positions with an arrow forward to the AMR/L position, or eventually leave them wehre they are and give them arrow backs to the WBR/WBL positions. I'd take off the back arrows of the defenders and give the left one a arrow left and the right one an arrow right. I'd put Vieira in the DMC position and tell him to guard the defence (Ultra defensive, no forward runs etc), and bring back Ronaldinho to the MC position witha forward arrow, or, perhaps even better, bring back Palombo to DMC (if he is indeed a defensive midfielder, I dont know his position) and leave Ronaldinho where he is.

Also, try this:

Your team is made up of some of the greates players EVER, why don't you try putting their ass on the bench a couple games so that they aren't as complacent.

For example, I benched Santa Cruz because he wasn't finishing his chances, so three games later, he got a brace and only had 3 shots on goal.

PS - How sick is Demichelis?

don't mean to be a bad sport or anything but one of the beauties of this game is doing things yourself. just try a little experimenting, moving players around and find yourself a tactic that suits your players best. there's a lot of things to tweak and change, you'll be surprised what you can do. so don't take others advice, do it yourself it will be better. :strong:

poor buffon. well that's the price you pay for playing with the same formation and same player instructions the whole season. the AI in the game has "cracked" your tactic, so your screwed or you have to change something. try and switch to a classic 4-4-2 or some other formation, set up instructions accordingly to the players, etc. you can't just move one player to a different position and think that's that. now you have to start from scratch or modify your current formation drastically. and don't blame the game's engine it's not his fault, trust me. ;)

ok, you're doing everything good so far..

I'm guessing there is one *.mds, and one *.mdf file?

Then you need to get daemon tools, install it, and run it..

Right click on its icon in the bottom right, virtual cd dvd rom, set 1 drive, and then mount the file (you can only select one, but keep both in the same folder) into your new virtual drive.. then it'll work..
YES!! it worked! shukran ya azizi! :D

so now I can right click the *.exe file and select compatible with Windows NT 4.0, and get rid of Daemon Tools right?

When the game starts, press new game on the main page. Wait a bid. When you get na new scren choose the leagues you want to run (you have to run a league to be able to coach a team in it), pres create game. Wait until the game is created and a new screen. Write your name and detrails, choose the team youb want and click continue or add user.

I did all that, but what's next? Do I have to schedule all my games, before I can start?

Hey guys, if you're in a rut, and in need of a striker, I suggest you try Mario Bermejo of Albacete..

Nothing spectacular, but, since I had to sell zalayeta off, and I was left with only 1 fully fit striker, I opted to loan him for the remainder of the season.. thankfully it was in the latter days of december..

Anyways, he scored 4 goals in his first 2 games for me.. off the bench, too! Like I said, his stats aren't anything spectacular, but he does the job..

I hate to say it but I told you so. Weeks ago I said that I heard from a number of reliable sources that the match engine was shit as everything seems easier for the AI and your players don't respond to tactical instructions like they should and the results are unrealistic. Everyone was like, 'nah, the game is sweet!' I am going to wait until there is a patch that actually makes the tactical aspect of the game realistic before I download Football Manager 2006.

lol i thought the same... haha

anyway, im so
i dont know what to do, and no mate my finishers are good, look at my team. and btw, with this formation i also won 2 serie a last 2 years.. but this year i suck...
It isnt always the fault of the goalkeeper. Your defence can be raped along the flanks with that formation.

no they make the schedule for you. you just have to press continue until matchday. make sure you sort out formation tactics and training beforehand.

TBH I'm not too surprised that you are conceding a lot of goals now that I look at your formation. It doesn't matter how good your defenders are, if you play a back three with no defensive midfielders or wing backs you are going to be vulnerable at the back, especially towards the end of matches when your players are getting tired. There's a reason why teams don't play that type of formation in real life.

If you want to stick with a back three and those particular players then I would make these changes: Give the outside centre backs arrows to the right and left full back positions respectively. You have Heitinga, de Jong and Felipe in your team and they can all play wider if necessary so that shouldn't be a problem. This should help in the picking up of opposition wide players. Drop both Vieira and Palombo back to defensive midfield. Give them quite a low mentality with not a lot of attacking instructions. If things go as I hope, they will cover the spaces left by the outside centre backs when they go wider. What mentality do you currently have Vieira, Palombo, Ronaldo, Reyes and Ronaldinho on? I would pull Ronaldo, Reyes and Ronaldinho back to MR, ML and MC respectively with forward arrows to AMR, AML and AMC. Give Ronaldo and Reyes normal mentality (13 or 14) as the forward arrows will ensure that they get forward frequently anyways. Ronaldinho can have attacking (15 or 16) since he has cover behind him.
