Only a year after being released for windows, flash player 9 [beta] has come to linux.

Painless howto

open:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html

download Download Installer for Linux (GZ, 2.48 MB)

tar zxvf <file>

cd flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.55/

cp libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins

open: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/

flash on the lower right should say version 9,0,21,55 installed

This will install it for your user. To install globally, figure out where your plugins are and put the file there.

UPDATE: no shit, flash player no longer makes firefox steal all your idle cpu cycles, Firefox is playing a youtube video right now and it's only using 20% cpu!!! Hopefully this will improve Firefox latency in dealing with flash, less crashes, more error less operation.

Ps. And alsa works too, so no need for aoss anymore.

FYI, flash + vmware + fglrx is not recommended, it's like a cauldron, waiting to blow at any time.
