Fiorentina and Juventus have contested 73 league fixtures in Florence. The Bianconeri have historically found points hard to come by in Tuscany, winning 20, drawing 28 and losing 25 encounters on Viola territory.
Last season, however, proved an exception to the rule, as Antonio Conte’s men ran riot in a stunning 5-0 victory. Vucinic, Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo and Padoin silenced the Artemio Franchi with a devastating display of clinical finishing.
The Bianconeri’s most frequent success in away encounters with Fiorentina is by a 2-1 scoreline.
Here’s a round-up of the seven fixtures involving a narrow Juve triumph:
1931/32 – Munerati’s double sinks the hosts.
1950/51 – Danish striker Hansen bags a brace.
1952/53 – Vivolo on target either side of a Viola equaliser to seal all three points.
1966/67 - Salvadore’s opener is cancelled out by Hamrin. But De Paoli pounces in the closing stages to claim Herrera’s Bianconeri a deserved victory.
1970/71 – Ferrante puts the hosts in front, only for Juventus to fight back through Bettega and Causio.
2005/06 – Trezeguet strikes first, but Pazzini restores parity shortly before the interval. Camoranesi hits the target late on to seal a win for Capello’s side.
2009/10 – Diego gives the Bianconeri the lead after taking the ball past Frey and tapping into an empty net. Fiorentina draw level through ex-Juventino Marchionni, but Grosso scores in the second half to bring all three points back to Turin.
