Del Piero is putting pressure on himself, not a smart move since he doesn´t handle it very well. The reason Trap is talking about Totti all the time is simply becuase he wants Totti feel as if he is the most important player just as he is when he is playing for Roma, because Totti wants and likes to be the star and he handles it very well. And if that makes Del Piero feel the desire to show the world he is just as good, I woud say that Trap is doing a good job. As long as it doesn´t ruin the teamwork

But Del piero better perform right from the begining, Because Cassano will perform if he is given the opportunity to do so. I´m sure of it

I am sure that Del Piero will play a good tournament! I believe in him! I hope we finds a good start in the beginning match than it will be easier for the next matches!

for me he is as good as totti, (when on form) but i think it is only an advantage for him that everyone expects Totti, I think Del PIero can only shine!

forza Alex!

Actually Del Piero and Totti started playing for the NT at more or less the same age. DP's first major tournament was the disastrous Euro '96, where he was 22 and did not play a game, while Totti's debut was Euro 2000 (aged 23) of which he was one of the big revelations. Im gonna sound repetitive but DP did more than just "have a bad game" here and there for some time now.

Also, I think Cassano would be a good replacement for Totti if something happened to him.
actually, when del piero first started at juve, he played at levels for his country and even played for the army team:D My point is though that Totti was never the golden boy at a young like del piero was. Del Piero was an 18/19 year old winning scudetti and winning a CL with juve. so when he played for italy, it was all on his shoulders. totti had this an older age where he could mature more as a player. im not trying to make excuses for del piero, im just saying that he has never played for the national without being under the limelight of the press etc...this time around, the limelight isnt on him, its more on totti, so it will benefit him.

Well, they say that the media is just trying to heat things up and show the 'ununity' of the Italian team, and Cannavaro already said no such thing exists for the moment and asked the media to shut up (of course he said this politely :D )
