Any chance we can remember his birthday instead of the anniversary of his death?

Just seems odd that we've got it backwards...
i dont know, in england i know that they tend to follow the year of passing and anniversary, it may be the same in other european countries

Juventus pay tribute to the Avvocato

Five years and a few days on from the Avvocato Gianni Agnelli's death, he is still very much talked about. Which is the least people can do for an extraordinary person like him, who gave such a contribution not only to Turin's history, but Italy's itself.

To commemorate the fifth anniversary of his passing, a vast exhibition entitled “Il secolo dell’Avvocato. Gianni Agnelli, una vita straordinaria” [The Avvocato's century. Gianni Agnelli, an extraordinary life] has been organized, including photographs and TV footage covering his whole life. After beginning in Rome, at the Vittoriano rooms, now the exhibition has reached Turin. Indeed from the 14th of February to the 16th of March it will be hosted in the striking environment of the Mole Antonelliana.

So Gianni Agnelli has basically returned home. And Juventus couldn't miss the opportunity to pay tribute to the man, as the Club was one of the great loves of his life. The whole team was present on the day the exhibition was unveiled, alongside Chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli and several Board Members (in town to take part in the day's Board meeting at Juve's headquarters). The Avvocato's nephew, John Elkann, was also present of course.

Among the many VIPs at the Mole Antonelliana, former Juventus Manager Marcello Lippi and three top representatives of Ferrari, the other big passion of the Agnelli family: pilots Kimi Riakkonen and Felipe Massa, alongside Stefano Domenicali, Sport Management director of the famous automobile company.

The exhibition is open to the public from Thursday. A lot of people are expected to attend, especially Juve fans.
