It's not really expected that they'll go down or anything, but the good thing is that they will have to take measures to get them back in good financial standing where Juve shouldn't and that would should put us in an advantageous position.
Exactly. Like I said they will have to curb spending and maybe sell star players to balance everything.

Too many loopholes to be exploited for this to work.

They should concentrate more on the 6+5 rule that would be better for football.
That idea was ditched because it was deemed incompatible with EU law.

FIFA obviously didn't want to publicise that they were ditching it, though, because they did it very quietly on the day before the World Cup started, so no-one would notice.

Yea that was shady. I didn't hear about it until you mentioned it a while back.

Change prices of Season tickets in the executive boxes and have the owners purchase them all. The merchandise thing Red mentioned, change the price of a football shirt for the day.

City's owners for example own Etihad airways they could just bump the sponsorship deal through the roof.

There is probably alot more complex ways that I have not got the brain power to work out, but these owners arent suddenly going to own a football club without being able to influence it.

    Really?

Did not receive so much media attention, well then this financial fair play ruling is hypocritical then, because the 6 + 5 rule was just as good for the state of football.

    It's not hypocritical.

The football authorities didn't want to ditch the 6+5 thing, they had to because the EU wouldn't allow it.

Why was it deemed to not comply with EU law?
    Because it is discriminatory.

If half of an Italian team's players have to be Italian, that is discriminatory against a player from Spain who wants to play in Italy, so is not compatible with the EU principle relating to the freedom of movement of workers.

It's true. To be honest, I was even a little surprised that they were allowed bring in the rule about a certain portion of the CL squad having to be home grown, but they got away with it because the big clubs bring foreigners through their youth set ups as well as locals.

Yeah, I was surprised that the 6+5 even got initial positive noises from the EU, which caused FIFA to look seriously at bringing that rule in.

I highly doubt financial fair play will kick in. For UEFA to think they are more powerful than the big clubs in Europe is nonsense.

Besides if you can't handle your clubs debt you get the ultimate penalty. You become Leeds Part 2

You're already starting to see how certain teams are gearing up for this ahead of time.

How much did Inter and Chelsea spend on the transfer market this summer?

Inter did almost nothing, except selling Balotelli.

Chelsea let a few old, high earning players go, but signed Ramires (~£17m).

Well, there you go. Inter and Chelsea are not known for having transfer campaigns that make little to no impact.

We'll have to wait and see if it's the start of a trend or if they just didn't see anything they liked on the market this year.

It's likely they are being cautious in preparation for the new rules, though.

Moratti said as much after the transfer market closed this summer.
