I like the management aspect of it. Buying players that would never come here and winning triplettas left and right. Like the Total War series, if you're familiar with that. I didn't even usually play the battles, just liked building up the economy

In FUT there's the management aspect as well.

I like looking at the auction house and to go hunting for players in order to buy cheap and sell with profit (probably my favorite part of FUT). I love to plan how to make my team, and save up for an expensive player.
You gotta think about how to put your team together as well. Linking Robben with Marchisio simply won't work because their chemistry is going to be terrible since they don't share league or nationality. However, if you link Marchisio to Sneijder and link Sneijder to Robben, then your team will actually work since Marchisio and Sneijder play in the same league, and Sneijder and Robben is from the same country.

Oh, and playing against other players online in the division system is awesome. It's much more challenging to play other players than to play against the cpu. It's also pretty challenging to win the division 1 and the different cups.
You'll get coins to buy players, contracts, fitness cards and so on when you play games, and you'll get more when you win than when you lose. You obviously also get more coins when you win your division than if you only manage to stay up.
