I like Torres. His pace and finishing is lethal and i think he is closing back to his best. Some might argue he isn't playing well for Chelsea but I can always see him being played out of position on the left. Similar circumstance when Cavani was played out of position for his country as well, causing lack of goals when he plays for Uruguay. Not to forget, Torres does alot of defensive work from the front. I think this is one the criteria that Conte is looking at, just like why we were interested with Cavani till ADL came out with out of this world price tag.
Secondly , one of the biggest reason why we going for Torres that i can think of is we do not have enough cash. We cant splash all 30 million on a single striker in one window, most likely because Conte want's to improve other positions as well for example LWB and CB. So he tries to negotiate with clubs who are interested in Giovinco. I remember reading a report regarding Chelsea's interest on him.
But having said this, I have two major doubts that this transfer can go through. One mainly is due to Giovinco reluctance to be used as a pawn , secondly more important is Torres sky high wages.
