Fernando Llorente was all smiles as he introduced himself to his adoring public at Juventus Summer Village in Chatillon this evening.

The Spanish frontman, who wowed a packed out Stadio Brunod with a hat-trick in the team’s second training session of the day, also won the supporters’ admiration for his impressive grasp of the Italian language.

Speaking to DJ Nana and Cristina Chiabotto on the stage at Val D’Aosta, Llorente said: “It was important for me to speak Italian when I came here. I’m very happy I’ve been able to learn it well.”

Llorente says he is adapting well to life in Turin, as well as forming close friendships with his new team-mates, adding: “I get on well with everyone, they’re all nice lads.”

Asked to recall the moment he became a World Cup winner with his native Spain in 2010, the 28-year-old replied: “I remember it as an incredible moment, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened in my life so far.”
Llorente concluded by providing his thoughts on Juventus Stadium and Juventus Museum, visited for the first time ahead of his official presentation to the media just over ten days ago: “It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen, it impressed me a great deal.”

Everytime he speaks he comes across as an intelligent, cultured fellow. Thats good news for us. Also how he learned Italian quickly is impressive and shows that he not only strives to learn on the pitch, but he also wants to gain knowledge. Not often mentioned, but that is a great quality for a footballer to have.
