Juve: Llorente no, Drogba maybe - Football Italia

Juventus' hopes of signing Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente have been hit but Didier Drogba has emerged as a surprise target.

The reigning Serie A champions are intent on signing a proven, international class striker but doing so is proving an ordeal. Llorente is said to be keen on a move to Turin but his club have frozen the Spanish international out and are driving a hard bargain.

“If Juventus really want Llorente they should hunt down every cent of his €36m clause,” Bilbao President Josu Urrutia told Canal Plus after his side lost 4-0 to Atletico Madrid in Llorente's absence last night.

“The future of Llorente is not in our hands. I've always said that a player can go if they don't care about Athletic anymore or if someone pays their termination clause, but these conditions do not exist.

“He's an Athletic player and we continue to rely on him.”

Meanwhile financial problems at Drogba's new club Shanghai Shenua could open the door for a shock swoop, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chinese club are owned by tycoon Zhu Jun and by five state owned companies.

However a dispute over the transferral of shares between Jun and the state owned companies has put Shenua's funding in jeopardy, meaning their big name players could be on the market soon.

Foremost amongst those big names is Drogba, who only joined the Chinese Super League outfit earlier this summer. The Ivorian forward helped Chelsea win last season's Champions League, scoring a late equaliser and the decisive penalty in a shoot out with Bayern Munich.

To say Cavani is on the same level of Falcao and Higuain is definitely LOL worthy.
LOL worthy is saying Higuain is better than Cavani. I hate the arrogant bastard but he's an absolute beast and always scores in big games, taking Napoli on his back, while Higuain has always been a second choice. Put Cavani in a team like RM and he'll bench both Higuain and Benzema in a month. Cavani's goalscoring rate is impressive, his work rate is immpressive, he takes part in the build up, does deffensive work and his grit and determination are truly exceptional. He's also consistent enough. On the other hand Higuain - a technical player with a killing instict, though his work rate is twice lower than Cavani's and he's psysically weaker. He doesn't chase the ball when lost and more often is the guy with the final touch (hardly has any role in the build up play). The problem with him is that he's not used to be the key figure in his team, that's why in big matches he always fades away. CAVANI >Higuain, every other opinion is respected but not correct.

here's a question, is cavani better than trezeguet and inzaghi?

and let's not forget amauri, people defended him because he worked hard, involved and determined... but we know what happened then

Higuain hasnt always been a second choice..What rubbish..
well, what i meant is that he was never the star player, who was expected to change the game, and 80% from his stay in RM he's the second choice. I know Higuain is rated very high in this forum and i rate him also, but really?? Better than Cavani? That's pretty biased...
And why what i said is rubbish? Please tell me

That is bullshit, before Flo Pérez arrived Golzalo was the star player of that team and he was carrying them through games.

The guy then started receiving competition from Benzema and got a season long injury which made them equals in the team (allowed Benz to find his feet in Spain).

Because he benched Benzema for two seasons running also for the last three seasons he's maintained a highly impressive goal tally/scoring ratio. It was only last season that Benzema stepped up but i'm still not convinced by him cuz he misses too many important sitters..To be fair had Ronaldo not been there ,Mou have started Benz and Higuain together. Also there's seems to be some sort of friction between Higuain and CR which is why Benz and CR is preferred as they seem to linkup well as opposed to the former.Higuain would improve any team in the world in my opinion. There's no second thoughts about it.

Edit:I missed the injury part.i almost forgot about it either ways your assumption on him always being a second choice is totally wrong. He is first choice now for Argentina NT as well.

Go all in for Dzeko. Thats it.

Bilbao is a different kind of club. Its more important for them to send a message to their players not to leave the club than actually getting the money. Sure, they can get the money but they can't invest it in something as valuable as Llorente because there simply ain't any other Llorente they can buy with their retarded transfer policy.

I mean, their biggest signing ever is a guy that cost them 12m euro ffs.. 15 years ago!

:howler: I'll stop at that..You wont budge from your point when you keep saying "he's a 2nd choice bench player" when infact you're totally wrong and i wouldnt bother convincing you.

You can't have watched Madrid much, it doesn't matter. A lot of people are as mistaken as you are :)
