Some people despise Moggi, believe me. Marotta has done well, but his work is far from complete or perfect. There are still elements of imperfection, and I compliment him on the work conducted thus far, but not if he fails in delivering a reliable/quality striker and a LWB/LB. Regarding the youth sector, I really hope his and Paratici's work will bear fruit, and that we won't be shipping out all the youngsters, never to see them again.

I hope we can uncover our own legends in the youth sector (instead of regretting not getting Jovetic and Cavani/Higuain), and that perhaps one day our youth segment will give rise to the new Pirlo, Del Piero, Zidane, Trez, Baggio, etc...

As for the Scudetto, Marotta does deserve credit, but praise must be reserved primarily for Conte and the players, as in our first season under Marotta we still finished 7'th ;)

Brittish sources say Tottenham offered 25M for Llorente now. Dont know if it's true. But obviously there will be competition for him.

My guess is: if Marotta can't have neither Llorente nor Dzeko for 20M or less by the end of August, he'll desperately go for Jovetic. If Fiorentina refuse anything below 30M, Marotta will settle for Pazzini :/

Settling for Pazzini would be an absolutely disgusting end to the Mercato. I think Tottenham can offer more tbh, simply because they will get a fuckton of money from Madrid. If we feel we are out of this, we shouldn't delay and procrastinate, and go straight in for JoJo. 20 Million + Quag :donedeal: :klin:

I agree. I think Tottenham will get to 25M, and Marotta is unlikely to match it.

In the end, if City can't get rid of Dzeko by the end of August, they can get desperate and sell him for 20M or less. The correct approach would be to work both on Dzeko and Jovetic by the last week of August and get the one who is gettable.

Marotta needs to hurry the fuck up then with Llorente and not waste time like he usually does, except for when he buys mediocre italian players, he gets the deal done in 15 minutes.

TBH I think that Man. City are pretty relaxed about having 5 strikers.

From what I can ascertain they are more concerned about landing their target Daniel Agger with cash plus Adam Johnson.

Dzeko is likely to get plenty of playing time over what will be a congested fixture programme as they try to progress in 3 - then 4 - competitions between now and next May.

It is all looking like a Pazzini to Turin scenario.

who hates moggi? moggi was a $#@!ing godsent, one of the best ever. I'm just saying that Marotta has done a spectacular job and all this bitching about him is totally undeserved. We finished 7 twice in succession, do you remember what our team looked like last season? Marotta made us a scudetto winning team and dark horses for the CL and not one player is earning more than 4.5 million per season.
Am I missing anything or wasn't Marotta on charge of our transfers when we finished 7th in the league for the second year in a row ?!

What did really change last season that we didn't have in 2010/11 season ?

Conte

I don't like Llorente much. He may be better than what we have but he's certainly not that much better nor is he the goalscorer we need IMO. And 20 mil is insane moeny for him too. I'd rather stick to what we have, bench Matri and start Vuci with Gio. I'm also sure that once Quags gets some minutes this season he'll start scoring a few goals for us :)
Awww naaaaww what are you doing here :D

Better not to buy anyone instead buying for sake of it.
And not address our most glaring deficiency last season? If we converted even half of our chances last year, we would have won the league at a canter. I'd love for us to sign Higuain/Cavani to spearhead our attack, but the fact of the matter is their clubs are'nt selling unless we break the bank, which we are not in a financial position to do so.

Yeah, Conte was the only thing that changed.

There was still a large number of players purchased in that first season under Marotta that performed a lot better under Conte.

I don't think Llorente would want to play for Spurs, his agent stated that he wants CHL football and with Spurs doubt he will get it soon.
