Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri has complete faith in Brazil international midfielder Felipe Melo, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 27-year-old flopped in his first year in Turin following a high profile €25m move from Fiorentina.
Such was Melo’s unpopularity many thought he would be sold this summer, especially after his mistakes at the World Cup in South Africa.
However, La Gazzetta understands Del Neri is prepared to give Melo the keys to his midfield, making him an undisputed regular despite his meritocratic philosophy.
Melo has apparently responded well to everything Del Neri has asked of him since the latter’s arrival from Sampdoria in the summer.
Del Neri has reminded Melo of the performances he gave in the 2008-09 season and believes he can be Juventus’ 'best signing’ of the summer considering last year was a write off.
