Juventus to swap Melo for Clichy?

Juventus hope to tempt Arsenal into parting with Gael Clichy by offering Felipe Melo in exchange, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are in the market for a left-back, as they intend to sell Fabio Grosso following a disappointing campaign in Turin.

Clichy has emerged as their No 1 target, partly because Juventus are aware of Arsenal's interest in Melo and feel such an exchange would benefit both parties.

Juventus spent €21m on Melo last summer and hope to recoup as much of that fee as possible over the next month or so.

However, given Melo's dire season, Il Corriere understands that Juventus and Arsenal could settle on a straight swap with little or no money changing hands.

We need a LB and there aren't many of them that are good and available. Clichy wouldn't be my first choice but close to it. As far as replacing melo, we can do that much easier than finding the LB we need to take this team to the next level.

We would get more from Clichy than we would from Melo.

Nothing, I'm just not keen swapping the guy for Melo...thats all
Understand it. But what Melo showed this season with Juve is unacceptable imo. Even his WC performence was the same IMO. That silly battle with Pepe during the Portugal match which get him yellow. And than the red card against the Dutch. :sergio: :sergio: :sergio:

Clichy would fix our LB problem at the very least. While Melo causes problems..
