Theres no doubt this is a good investment though. He's young, imagine when he improves in coming years. He'll be worth a lot more.

He's 26 now, it's not like he's 19. I doubt we bought him in order to sell him in few seasons.

Not saying he's a bad player or it's a bad move, but that's only a couple of mil less than Diego.

If he were to play well in CL his value would definitely increase substantially. He might not be super young but he's young enough to be able to sell in a few years if need be without age being a problem. Not that I'm thinking about selling a player we haven't even bought yet . Yeah when the figure is turned into pounds.. for me it all of a sudden seems to sound that lil too pricey.

Honestly as much as I like Melo if the money used for his transfer turn out to be the money we lack for a decent LB&RB, this transfer would turn into the the next major disaster.
I hope the Agnellis decided to pour some money into the club and the signature of Melo is not going to jeopardize our most important targets: Santacroce and a very good LB. But I think that we can find those players within another 15 mils at maximum and now we have enough players to sell to achieve that.
Our Midfield is just TOO much: Marchisio, Sissoko, Melo, Tiago, Poulsen, Zanetti, Ekdal, Camoranesi, Diego, Giovinco = ten players - we could field a squad of midfielders along Gigi...

ekdal will be loaned out, zanetti will be 9th choice. so it is 4 starters and 4 backups. not bad...

in addition to this, nobody knows if camo will be ok and ifa tiago finaly does something good. so you have some players that you don't know if you can rely on...
