Terrible news for Chievo, as Federico Mattiello sustained another fracture to the same leg that was already broken in March.
The Juventus-owned defender suffered the horrific double break during an accidental collision with Roma’s Radja Nainggolan.
He had only just returned and played a full 90 minutes at the weekend.
However, during today’s training session, Mattiello sprained his right ankle and tests showed a new fracture.
It’s not clear how long he will be out for, but it’s a devastating blow for the young defender.
