I'm not a fan of 4-3-2-1 (4-3-1-2) or any formation without wingers for that matter, but I'd love to see Dybala and Berna behind Higuain. Or Berna behind Dybala - Higuain, if possible.

I'm not against a 4312 per se, but would it work in Europe? My concern is that Bernardeschi just isn't good enough to make it work against top sides like RM and Bayern. They mark him out of the game with ease and the link up play is gone, resulting in Dybala again dropping deep to get the ball.

Another reason I'd like us to stick with the 4231 is that we just don't have the CM's to play a 3 man mid.

This is not set in stone.I would suggest not to think he will be there in every formation, since we dont know what alegri is planning.

yes the 4231 lifted our season, but it was also a formation we used as an emergency set up which luckily worked out.

If we get the players we are planning to get..we will have to consider experimenting, because having a Treq not named dybala opens up options.

We do not necessarily HAVE to change formation... but is not out of the question looking at what we have and what we can do.

We actually have a lot of CMs, and plan to get one more. The problem is the lack of quality on the bench. But at least now we'll have Sami who could come off the bench. We could always change the formation if needed; we have a flexible squad. I actually expect us to see a lot of changing between formations next season.

Dybala could have a free role, the same way messi does at barca. So more of a 4312.

The problem with the 3 man midfield is it means Mandzukic gets benched, which would be hard to justify. Ideally, we would just get a Nzonzi and continue with the 4231.
