I am very sad for the amount we are committing on him. I believe he is only average at best. He is worse than Marchisio, Khedira, or Pjanic. Completely useless defensively, lacks Pirlo's vision for through passes and favors more long balls. Even Dybala out of position can play better in this role than him, Bentacour is likely to surpass him, Draxler who could join for half the money had much more talent. That amount will set him as our starter, yet imo he is not ready yet for a team like Juventus and defintly not ready to offer what we lack in CL.
We were struggling to find an AMF for 5 years now, we had 50mil to spare and this is the best we can do?
After the CL final, this is as far as we can go, for our most influental player? Is this player the one who projects our ambitions? Really? If he is, that's just sad imo...

He is a slow player, that will impose a slow tempo and desperate long balls. He also seems to have a problematic character, unfit for such a leader role.
This could be the worst transfer of the last decade. We had bad transfers before, like Melo and Amauri, but they were 25mil ones.A 50mil flop will set a record as our biggest flop yet.
I understand that factors that skyrocketed his price tag. Viola consider themselves as sworn enemies, the little pank is young enough to give us a decade and a promise of improvement always overrated prices, more than actual value.
Also in the past 3 years we have seen an incredible inflation in transfer prices and the Italian federation still have a lot of nationalistic laws imposed, that force us to have more Italians than we need. The last year's Italian talents have been terrible, so the few decent ones have come to cost as WC foreign players.

I see this transfer as a tragic mistake, a mistake that we will regret, that's my opinion and I have the balls to express it. My intention is not to troll, I have arguments!

On the other hand, should he join us, I wish him all the best and I will be grateful to see us changing in a formation that uses an attacking midfielder, as this is what I have been craving for ever since we lost ZZ. This is a start, even if he fails and disgrace the legendary Juventus number 10, when the time comes to replace him, we will be wiser and hopefully get someone worthy!

To be honest I've seen so many crazy transfer fees that I just don't know what it is normal these days. Is 50m for Bernardeschi such a bad price, when Pogba goes for 130? I have no clue these days.
I agree that the market rates for players are ridiculous these days. But I don't believe that Bernie is a €50m player in today's market.

He's an attacking wide player, a winger or second forward who has also played at wing back. Not comparable to CMs.

I kind of like the name though. Bernardeschi.. That's the sort of name a superstar could have. Like Dybala. That's a good name as well.

Dybala has a Saviola type of ring to it. Forgettable, unmemorable.

Bernadeshi, I agree, sounds grand.

Well, I ve been saying that from my first posts in this thread, however the majority of our posters here are convinced that he is coming to adopt a central role.
If he is coming as a winger, that's even worse, as it mandatory for wingers to have great speed and stamina and he has not...

He does have a playing style that with experience could see him become more of a cm. This touches right upon the biggest 'issue' i have with bernardeschi, hes still looking for his best position.

I think he is best between the lines, and that left foot of his is suited for coming inside from wider areas. He's not an authentic winger for sure but seems a lot closer to that than a genuine CM. Maybe it's because of the delivery he has an superior mobility in comparison to creative CMs. Where would you put him in a midfield 3, as an alternative to Pjanic?

Him and Pjanic could work with a third one doing the dirty work, but maybe down the road is better. For now yes, more between the line-up. But im not sure out wide is ideal, his link up is what i like most. Almost like the Marchisio of attackers.

Too bad Della Valle has'nt come forwards calling him the next Roberto Baggio. That might shut up a lot of critics similar to how Dybala was compared to Messi by Zamparini.

Not only is the name GOAT but he acts like he wants to own the game too. I watch him a lot (been following him for a long time) and he has the right attitude. He seems like he knows he can be a boss, without the douchy attitude that comes with it sometimes. Welcoming the responsibility without the attitude issues.

I don't think the Baggio comparison is good anyways. If one has to compare him to a recent Viola player I think Rui Costa is a better comparison.

@Hustini but €50m for Bernie is just
You guys should realize the market evolved.

50M euros? I'm not shocked.

Also, lets not have double standard, if Juve sells a player (sandro for example), of course you don't want to sell it like it was 5 years ago.
