At least he's young, so he has some resale value, right guyse?
Well, seeing he's not a useless South American bottler who'll want to leave after a few good years, that's not an issue here.

Our Italian core really must be expanded and improved. Hoping there's a few gems in our young guys besides Rugani.

Is it ridiculous?

Remember big 5 league revenues have increased by 11.6% from 2012 to 2016.
EPL +18.61%
BUNDES +8.04%
LALIGA +12.39%
SERIEA +4.63%
LIGUE1 + 5.88%
--------------------
BIG 5 + 11.58%

Also transfer expenditures grew by 19.25% per annum over the same period - another reference point...
Assuming that companies reinvest majority of growth into players keeping profit margins the same and not lining their pockets, that implies similar growth in transfer fees.

This would imply a transfer fee of ~26.06 as of 2012 using revenue growth, and 15.67 using transfer fee growth.

Comparables:
In 2012 Thiago Silva went for 41, Hazard went for 40, Guarin for 11, which converted to 2017 transfer figures using revenue growth: Silva 71MM, Guarin 19MM, Hazard 69MM and using transfer fee growth: Guarin 26.52MM, Silva 98.85MM, Hazard 96.44MM....

I think 45 isn't that bad in this context.
