While tight on goalkeeping and defense, this was a pretty good game that lived up to a bit of the hype. Brilliant FK for the winner, and some nice saves by both Helton and Ricardo to keep the match from tipping either way.

Very true, do you have a favourite Portuguese team?

If Benfica win today they are 1 point away from first, next week they face Porto at home for first place.

The verdict is sort of out on that. I like Benfica for its tradition, many of the players, its facilities, etc. I like Sporting because they are scrappier with less money and develop a lot of interesting youth players. I like Porto though perhaps not as much, despite being a big fan of Quaresma for some time, but I become a big fan of them whenever they play in the CL. And as a city, Porto is sort of like Torino to Lisbon's Roma -- they get points there. (Though I don't really follow Boavista.)

And because I think they have the coolest stadium on the planet and tend to muster a quality team often in the face of such serious odds, I am a fan of Sporting Braga.

So I'm a mess, really. No major alliances to one given club. How about you?

Born a Benfica fan, love their stadium, I go to Lisbon a lot, I became a big fan of Juve last year.

I cheer on all the Portuguese teams when they are in the Champions League, but I support Benfica the most, I have a full kit, jersey, shorts, and socks and cleats that match. :p
