Bayern confirm Karimi deal
Iran Sports Press; Bayern Munich have confirmed signing of Iranian super star Ali Karimi for one year.

Ali Karimi who had earlier rejected a multi-million dollar contract from Al Ahli passed a medical test yesterday and signed a deal for one year with the Bundesliga Champions. Both sides have an option to extend the deal for an extra year after the first year. The news was announced on Bayern's official website.

The 26-year old has in the past rejected offers from German, Spanish and Italian clubs to remain in the UAE.

Karimi who won the Asian player of the year title in 2004, signed with Al Ahli four seasons ago after his move to Perugia collapsed. Karimi soon became one of the biggest stars in UAE League and brought glory to Al Ahli. Two years later Karimi was at the centre of transfer rumours as his two year contract with Al Ahli was reaching its end. Clubs in all European leagues were said to be chasing the Iranian star but Karimi renewed his contract with the UAE club for another two years to the disappointment of many Iranian football fans.

Karimi's arrival at Bayern Munich could signal the end for another Iranian star, as Vahid Hashemian looks certain to be on his way out of Bayern.

Its disappointing they stole him right under our nose, when Roma played the team Karimi plays for in the summer, we wanted to sign him there but he wanted to stay for a year, alot of people assumed there was a deal to take him to Roma at the end of his contract, I guess that wasnt right.

Does that matter? I have lots of shirts of other clubs, doesnt mean anything.
but a roma shirt does matter..rivalry kinda dictates that one shouldnt purchase a rivals shirt...like im sure u would never be seen dead in a lazio jersey.

Karimi's a very skillful player, and I always wondered why he wasn't playing in a decent European side. His dribbles are a defender's nightmare

actually I preferd he join Roma and it just because IMO Serie A is a better place for him than Bundesliga.

    ..

I dont think Bayern is a good move for him. He wouldnt be more than a bench player. Even if Joined Roma, he would struggle to get a starting place, fighting for a shirt with Totti. :D Imo, EPL would have been the best place for him. He would've make a fool out of all the defenders.
