I'm a very restricted eater. My tastes are very limited and I dont experiment too much. Having said that though, besides North Indian cuisine which is my favourite, I'd have to say Chinese and Italian cuisine are about all else, that I'll try.

You are right but it is originally coming from an Egytian food, it has a different name.

There are a number of those oddities.

Take Saran Wrap. While "Saran" is supposed to represent polyvinylidene chloride, "Saran" also means "wrap" in Turkish. Go figure.

I like Italian, Greek, and Lebanese cuisine. I absolutely love pasta in oil and garlic, I make it whenever I can. And nothing beats a good souvlaki or a falafel.

I could go for a fresh halvah right about now myself... the best place here in SF actually has them flown in from NYC.
