About Avril, she is supposedly younger than I am (18), and I find it hard to believe she learned how to play the guitar all by herself. She must of recieved a lot of help, cuz I tried to do that and I suck at it; can only play one song.

If youre gonna say Britney is fake, well so is Avril because she claims to be something she's not. Britney at least knows she's an airhead, but Avril claims to have this punk-mentality and this "I dont give a shit about anything" attitude when she doesnt sing punk music. She is a manufactured pop artist, some greedy executives saw that being punk was becoming hot among the teenagers so they decided to release this pretty girl with a punk attitude and punk clothes.

dude look at how long each have been around for. britney's been around forever. she still doesnt do ANYTHING besides dance provocatively and take her clothes off.

avril doesnt need sex to sell. she doesnt use it as a crutch and thats respectable. everybody into pop knows that nothing is truly punk, or pop, or anything, so it doesnt matter what avril's style "resembles". the fact is britney targeted preteens with her music. then she looked like a party-clown for children, realised that the money wasnt there, and started taking her clothes off.

avril on the other hand used to write songs even before she went big, she doesnt wear nothing, she DID play the guitar as a child. where did u hear that she didnt?

ive been teaching myself the guitar for the last couple months- since spring break maybe, and i can play like 30 chords now. im learning power chords as of a week ago. without a teacher.

I think it is rather funny how the views of everyone are almost backwards. Wouldn't us guys not care about the singing, and just about the looks? And the exact opposite for Fabi? Hmmmm, I think that is a first!

We dont know for sure if Britney got them or not, and I dont really care. I think she got them and then took them off, but we dont know because we havent seen real proof (besides those photos that compare pictures of her) but that isnt accurate enough to know.

I wish I could get you where I read that she didnt play the guitar before, but I read that awhile ago and I dont remember.

People dont buy a Britney album because she's almost naked on the cover (which she isnt) and she sold like 500,000 copies of her new album the first week on sales.
Britney Spears sold more than 10 million copies of her first album, how many did Avril Lavigne sell?

Now tell me, would you as a guy, spend $15 on a Britney Spears CD just because she's hot? I dont think so, and I bet most men think like you. Britney has gotten popular mostly because of her image and her taking her clothes off, but the reality is that she still has a strong fanbase and it isnt because she's taking her clothes off. There are lots of people just like me who like Britney's songs and dont really care what she wore to a certain performance.

I do agree she has done excellent stuff for her publicity and she's a very smart person in terms of doing stuff to gain more popularity (i.e. kissing Madonna), but Avril Lavigne also does stuff like that to gain more popularity too.

Conclusion: both are pop stars and are fake

She played the piano in a couple of songs in her last tour.

And in her new tour she sings a couple of songs live, and I dont really care if she sings live or not, if I go to see her I'll go for the show and just to have a good time. If I wanna see someone who sings good I'll attend a Whitney Houston concert, or maybe Norah Jones.
