I think the 17 point penalty and the stripping of the two Scudetti are both fair for Juventus because, let's face it, they plain cheated. Don't be in denial and say they don't deserve it, or say it's not fair to have the second Scudetto taken away. When you win the Scudetto, you get cash boosts as a reward and from sponsors. This cash is used to update the team (Vieira, etc...), and it helps the team (minutely, but surely). It's very just in my own honest opinion.

However, the other three teams should deem themselves lucky for receiving such a break. They are just as guilty.

Hmm conflicting reports? or did everblue miss this bit out?. Anyway I take your word and so I suppose you may be right regarding them being not that stupid, i fink.
He just gave two different interviews, one for Sky (where he apparently only talked about Canna) and one for RaiUno..(I've seen this one)

I believe he's just pissed and so he said that nothing's official yet but he knows that there are only formal things to do...That's what I guess, you know, I'm not Nostradamus...:D

Yeah It was one of my first instincts to actually believe he was pissed off. But either way imagine the sudden rage of sweat on some of reals' official, especially crapello.. priceless :D

You got a point there. Would you rather go for winning promotion in Serie B or would you rather be fighting against relegation in Serie A ?
even with -40 points, Juve won't be relegated.... nothing to worry about, better Serie A.

In previous years you wouldn't even KNOW who the president was because they NEVER said anything. I knew that Cobolli Gigli was the man when after the reading of the first verdict he said "sono incazzato" - more or lessed "i`m fu*king pissed off".

Forza Cobolli we love you.
Forza Gigli,again!Hi is da man!!!!:agree:

Calciopoli: Juve eye fresh appeal Tuesday 25 July, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus say they will fight on for justice after their Calciopoli appeal resulted in only a 13-point deduction from the first grade verdict.

The Bianconeri were this evening told that they would start the new season in Serie B with a 17-point deficit rather than the initial 30 handed out by the CAF court just over a week ago.

But Juventus, on the night when Lazio and Fiorentina were returned to the top flight, insist the matter doesn’t end here, hinting that they would now seek to approach the civil courts.

We simply can not accept this sentence,” said new President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli. “Putting into light what has occurred, this verdict can not be considered as balanced.”

The new club official, unhappy that his outfit were the only ones relegated, believes the Bianconeri have been harshly treated.

“I find it serious and totally unfair the diversity of verdict that separates Juventus from the other clubs,” he added.

“For this reason, we have decided to continue our appeals in every possible forum,” he continued.

“I can assure everyone that we won’t stop until justice is done, in the interest of our extraordinary fans, our shareholders, the club and the Italian championship.”

Cobolli Gigli also found the decision to strip the Bianconeri of their last two titles difficult to comprehend.

Juventus have paid a heavy price,” added the President. “The 2004-05 title has been revoked, as well as the 2005-06 one, despite the fact that it wasn’t a part of the inquiry, which denies us the chance to participate in European competition.”

Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan will now all start the new campaign in Serie A with a points deduction of 19, 11 and eight respectively.

So if we continue this appeal, this could go on forever and incidently this would mean serie A and B cannot kick start till possibly october or more. Which would also mean Uefa may carry on with the european competitions without italian participation. This actually sounds good.. if we aint there, nobody else should be either. Of course these are all my assumptions regarding the further appealing matter....

L'Opinione: Sentenze a rischio annullamento?

a) la fretta (imposta da scadenze europee) che non ha consentito l’organizzazione della difesa;
b) la non ammissione di prove e testi a difesa;
