Juve confident on appeal
Juventus are confident that their appeal against relegation to Serie B will be successful.
As well as dropping down to the second flight of Italian football, The Bianconeri will start next season with a massive 30-point deduction due to their involvement in the match-fixing scandal.
Defence lawyer Cesare Zacone has told the appeals court that the punishment is too severe, and club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is hopeful of escaping with a lighter sentence.
It is his view that Juve should be handed either relegation or a point penalty, but not both.
"There is realistic sense of confidence," said Gigli. "We have the conviction that our lawyer Cesare Zaccone used the right defensive line.
"Staying in Serie A with a deduction would not be bad, but also to start in Serie A without a deduction would be good too.
"Anyway, we will accept any type of penalisation due to the fact it will arrive from sport justice, even if we are considering the possibility of appealing to civil law and to Lazio's regional court."
The verdicts for all four appealing clubs - Juve, Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan -are expected to be delivered on Tuesday.
