Norwich City have made some astute signings this summer and could be on the verge of another eye-catching deal. According to reports in Italy, Norwich are closing in on the signing of Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella, with the Italian champions needing to sell a forward after bringing in Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

Anything in this world now seems possible after the move by Giaccherini to Sunderland.

Norwich has an underrated manager who did a fine job at Newcastle United but suffered at the hands of a crazy owner, Mike Ashley, who appears to see Zamparini as a perfect role model.

There is absolutely no doubting the seriousness of the bid of €8m which has reportedly been made yesterday.

I can just imagine the intense pleasure felt by Marotta when he heard about this approach by the Canaries, quickly dispelled by his next thought that Quagliarella would almost certainly reject advances from a club that might best be described as the Premier Leagues equivalent to Chievo, principally because he loves Juve and wants to stay and enjoy more success with us, even if it meant playing a key role as a benchwarmer.

Norwich is unquestionably a very attractive city, just like Verona really minus an outdoor opera venue like the Arena di Verona. However something tells me that he isn't an aficionado of that kind of music anyway. More of a George Benson fan I suspect.

I think that €8m is about right given all the circumstances viz :-

1) His age and estimated depreciation value
2) The need for us to invest in a LWB (eg Kolarov) without breaking into cash reserves
3) We would save €2.1m on his wages in readiness for Kolarov's wage or alternative

13m seems to be Everton's offer. I would take it. The best thing about such deals is the fact that we are letting these players go to teams that will not be a rival to us in the league or CL. So we are in Norway strengthening or sharing our players with them.

Where was I saying we'll sell both? Was just alluding to the fact that West Ham or Everton may come in with a better value offer for Matri, in which case we will sell him. Whoever gets the higher bid will probably be sold imo. I dont think Conte cares for one or the other. But i think Matri has his heart set on Milan if he moves. Quag might move for good money. Honestly, I don't see us sell both to finance JoJo. If we are after JoJo we'll probably sell one of Quag/Mwtri and Vucinic. Coz I don't see JoJo, Vucinic and Gio making a go of it on the bench. Selling one of the two now, will simply be to raise money for Diamanti/Bonaventura/Nani.
