I think its still to early for zaza. If anything probably gabbiadini would do better
It's too early for most of them.

But it's nice that we have 4-5 young and potentially clinical strikers in our ranks. Zaza could be a really good, no-nonsense "bomber", who knows. Personally, I think Gabbiadini and Boakye are the best of the bunch.

We basically have four players (Gabbiadini, Immobile, Zaza, Boakye) to find the solution for 1-2 spots, plus perhaps Berardi as a wide forward, if he comes in.
I will be very surprised if any of them ever turn out to be more than a bench prospect for a season or two.

Inter, JuveJay just showed that the stats you continued to post dont prove anything
Why do they not prove anything? When people say sell Quag ahead of everyone else, that is debatable.

And using number of goals and appearances from this year can give you that?
It is a fair yardstick for how much of an impact player he's been, considering he cost 3m less than Matri.

That's cold but Quag takes shot from everywhere.

You don't like Quags JJ?
True. He takes more shots per game than Matri, maybe even Vucinic. I don't see how that's a bad thing, seeing that his conversion rate or goals to minutes ratio is not the worst around.

Zaza is up there as well now. If he scores a hatful of goals this season, we might see to bring him in to replace one of them.
I for some reason expect Zaza to do really well, even though I haven't seen much of his game. But, I think Berardi is almost certainly somebody with a sustainable future in a bigger club.

We basically have four players (Gabbiadini, Immobile, Zaza, Boakye) to find the solution for 1-2 spots, plus perhaps Berardi as a wide forward, if he comes in.
I don't think anyof those 4 guys will prove to be the next big thing. Maybe zaza but thats just a hunch. I wish we could get Ibarbo.

The source has not been with me for some time.
Either that, or the force.. :D

Quagliarella and Ibarbo. :facepalm2:

But hey, can't argue taste, right?
Huge fan of both. Everybody can be a fan of the Del Pieros, Tevezs', Messis, Ronaldos. But there are always other types of strikers who offer an interesting contribution, and I enjoy watching those too. For eg. I was a HUGE schillaci fan back in the day.

Can't argue with his goals record, phenomenal.
Cavani scored only 34 goals in 104 games as a CF for Palermo. He scored more than double that (78) in almost a similar number of appearances for Napoli.

Immobile went from scoring 28 goals for Pescara to score just 5 in about the same number of games for Genoa. You could argue that the reason is the switch from Serie b to Serie a. But that drop in goals is pretty substantial. What it actually points to, is the rate of growth of the player as well.

Too many variables right now to say if Ibarbo will be a success or failure, but at 23, if he finds the right environment, there is time and room for growth. Because from what I've seen, I think he's got some decent aspects to his game.

We just paid close to 15m for one of the poorer defenders in the league this year. That doesn't mean he's destined to flop here. Write him off if you will, but I've seen stranger things in the game than to write off a player at 23 just cos his goal stats don't look impressive as a wing forward.

I'm still trying to work out why you have used Cavani or his record as a comparison for Ibarbo.

Actually the Immobile comparison is pretty terrible as well. That's from Serie B in a Zeman team to Serie A in a shit Genoa team.

Just forget real strikers, because Ibarbo isn't one. 15 goals in 174 games suggest that goals are never going to be a big part of his game. If he has a season where he scores 10 that would be extraordinary for him. He's playing most of his games in a front two with a player behind, which merges into a front three at times, which is even more worrying.

The only impressive facets of Ibarbo's game are his insane pace and great physicality. He isn't particularly skillful, he's not creative at all and is obviously not prolific. Good player for a club of Cagliari's stature and nothing more.

The analogy was not stemming from positions, but the statistical data you were presenting to write him off. I see him more as a wing forward, similar in the mould of Berardi, than I do, as a Gabbiadini for example. The point I was trying to make is, don't write him off basis those numbers, because he could grow in the right environment as he has some fairly decent facets to his game.

Not sure if this guy is reliable but

According to Michele Criscitiello the Norwich would be plunged Fabio Quagliarella. The Juventus striker is on the market after they have arrived Llorente and Tevez. If the British were to offer at least 8 million the deal could be very rapid.
