TBH B, I doubt that we had the money for Dzeko in first place. If we did - Why didn't we splash it out on another player?
Like.. A certain French baldie :snoop:
That's because everybody was too busy focusing on his poor form at that point, totally overlooking his obvious sheer quality. Marotta was never going to buy a big name player anyway, it was merely a tactic used to appease the fans & buy time.

I think he failed in his first year, but I liked the mercato this year. Hopefully a big player next summer.

He failed this season as well.

1) Promised 3 WC players - FAIL
2) Reduced promise to 1 WC player - FAIL
3) Failed to improve on the defense with a CB & LB
4) Failed to buy a proven LW, chose the cowards & cheapskates way out.
5) Failed to offload rubbish like Amauri, Grosso & Iaquinta.

Licht, Vucinic & Vidal were excellent but his failures far exceeded his successes imo.

Our mediocre market and "pretty good" performance this season, particularly the table, look much better only when you consider Inter's total collapse, Milan's false start and Napoli's commitment to Serie A being stressed.

Remember where we were last year at this point, the test has not come yet. It feels different now but who knows how we will feel come January.

Well Marotta has January to save face, lets see if he can address the CB & LB issue which has reared it's ugly head. Sooner or later, those two positions will come back to haunt us big time.

What a load of bullshit. We will not sell/loan Quag to a direct rival in January. Will not happen. Why are people listening to transfer rumours from goal.com?

They will sign Maxi Lopez. Both parties have said they are interested and willing to make the move happen.

I hope he reaches his last year's form. He is our best attacker when in that kind of form.

Matri-Quag
Quag-Vucinic
Matri-Vucinic

are all good and solid attacking combinations.
