If Martinez and Pepe are both on form, Martinez is a far superior player.

It might not even be close
pepe is basically the reason why the left flank is balanced, puts in a crapton of work and makes forward effords.

now i'm quite shure pepe should retrain to wingback, and that pure technically martinez is alot more talented, but at current situation, you really cant take pepe of, without totally losing the left side in defence

We're using him as a target man...
Exactly. Del Neri didn't take the risk of using Iaquinta or Amauri, and then decided to use them both. That was something I couldn't understand, why not go with a DP/Quag and Amauri/Iaq instead from the start?

Just had a quiet half and then he was taken off. Seemed a tactical decision anyway, Palermo scored and then defended in a strict line, we had to then attack more from wide areas so it made more sense to replace him with Amauri. The Iaquinta sub, to me, made little sense. But then he scored, so obviously Delneri saw him as being the back post threat with Amauri causing trouble.

:sergio:

one tough 45 mins, and the 'I told you so' posts start all over again.

give the lad a chance, for fuck's sakes.

People keep forgetting how long it took Nedved, Zidane and others to start performing. give him (and others) some fucking time and then judge :sergio:

but it was exactly "Napoli thought he was crap, that's why they sold him to us and he's proving it."

and IIRC there was an uproar in Naples over his transfer.
