Having more games doesn't mean more playing time. Compare the no.of starts and game time. Ita safe to conclude that Borriello has had the most continuity compared to the other strikers on this team, save Vucinic. So you might wanna check the minutes since Borriello has been here. Also, its obvious he'd be compared to Borriello, since Matri, himself and Marco all are vying for the same spot on the team. As for his value, he is worth at least 10-12m, but that value is bound to deflate because he hasn't had sufficient game time and continuity in the season. Especially the first half when Conte took time indicting him into the team 4 months into the season. Next season will be a very different story if he's still here.

Way too injury prone? He's played 5 seasons or so consistently before his injury last season.

He doesn't excel at anything. He's not good enough to be an SS and not good enough of a scorer to be the the striker. He's not a good dribbler, not a good finisher(never scored more than 13 goals in the league), not a good creator(0 assists this season), not particularly fast. All he can do is shot balls from 50 meters away but that's a skill he can take somewhere else.

Don't show me that video, he had a good spell for half a season before getting injured. So did Amauri.

Why don't you translate all these starts and games played into playing minutes? You'll get an idea of what i mean. Look at Matri's stats in the 2nd half of the season. Top score in the team and he hardly had any contribution on the homestretch. It's not because he's not good. It's because he had no continuity or enough game time week in and week out. Next season might help you take off your blinkers hopefully.

And your doesn't excel at anything theory can be sold to the tourists. Quag is better than you make him out to be. And I much rather have somebody as versatile as him on the team than a rugrat like Giovinco. He wants Alex's no.10 jersey.

I'm sick and tired of people talking about contributions for a forward who has seen the least game time along with Alex. What are you expecting him to do, take home the MVP trophy?? When people talk about defending Borriello, they say Conte is at the trainings and seeing him working hard, but if we are talking about Quag, we have people asking why he's given a free pass. 4 goals from a striker who didn't play for the first 4 months of the season, and then played in a formation that didn't ideally suit him, shows hes competent enough to be here. And next season, when he's available from the start, he's going to be a different player.

Personally I quite like Quag, although he's a difficult player to pin down as a striker. He's not really a proper centre forward, although he does have decent strength, and he's not creative enough to play as a centre forward. So he's useful in a front 3 or 2, but he needs the ball fed to him rather than expecting him to do it.

Cmon Jman, I'm just defending him from criticism when people say he's not good enough or doesn't score enough. It's ridiculous to think that he received criticism even when he wasn't playing and was injured and Conte hadn't drafted him into the squad. I think he's a better player than people make him out to be, and he's a bit of a hybrid that makes him unpredictable. I just feel bad that injury struck him at a time that he could've had a breakthrough season.

You are assuming playing time by number of matches. Borriello and Matri have both played more mins than him. I feel like you're overly critical of the player when you haven't really given him a chance to prove you wrong or right. Just because you don't think he's that good, doesn't mean hes not.

Sorry, but you can't give me any of that "possibly" bullshit. How do you know he wasn't going to go through a slump? He was never consistent as a player, why would he all of a sudden have a 20 goal season?
