Still we shoudnt make to much fuss about demiral and kean. Both could be good Players but are far from being the finished product. Nobody remembers caldara for example. If we cant get rid of mandzu/ higuain/ khedira/ matuidi / bonbon or even rugani we need to sell someone else

I can't see why Paratici would let him leave. We need 5 CBs, chiellini's constant injuries requires this. Besides Demiral is the closest thing we have to a chiellini type defender.

I can't see Paratici making the same mistake marotta did letting caldara go so soon, if this summer mercato has proven anything is paratici is actually addressing the issues with this team whilst in the process of getting rid of the deadwood (for a decent price mostly too)

It's not like Benatia was playing much at the time, it's only after we sold him chiellini was injured at the crucial stages.

Regardless Benatia or not we were no way winning the CL last season given how badly we played.

Yes, he asked to leave (and i didn't really have a problem that we decided to sell him) BUT then either sell him before the season starts, or tell him to swallow his pride and stay until the season is over, so you can get a proper replacement and don't weaken the team midseason.

The situation is of course different. I'm just worried he doesn't care all that much for CB depth and we will again have to rely on Raguno when injuries hit us and it really matters.

He REFUSED to play, what would we achieve at that point? Lose 10mln and keep paying him instead?

Either way benatia is the past now, we took a risk on Chiellini not getting injured and it back fired and trusting Rugani more, whilst we take an unhappy player off our books who we would have sold this summer any ways.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but this doesn't make Paratici incompetent by any stretch not when he has addressed a lot of the issues without sacrificing qualities elsewhere like marotta used to do each summer.
