"i hope he gets more chances to play"

i hope that's just the usual sloppy translation from bianconeri zone. he literally selects the players lol

Interestingly enough Max said he liked that he always looks forward and makes runs forward.
I preferred him as regista for his passing and decision making but even as a B2B mid he at least brings the right attitude. He was getting forward and slightly central of Dybala and Cuadrado quite a bit, offering a 1-2 into goal or just drawing a marker. Berna and Rabiot, by contrast, only ever run the channels where they're completely ineffectual - closest thing to end product is a low percentage cross.

When you watch any fresh blood run around in this team, it shows how frightened this group is, especially the midfield. They're content to be protagonists in a game of keepings off. Whereas Vlahovic, Zakaria, Miretti have shown since their debuts a basic instinct to put the ball in the bloody goal.

I really don't think that passive, negative football is part of Allegri's grand design. There's just a core of timid, uninterested players in this group that needs to be removed and replaced.

Completely right, which is why I can't wait for next season. This standard of absolute mediocrity will hopefully come to an end with some fresh faces.

I'll be excited if most of the stragglers in this squad are sold and well replaced. But that's a hell of a task for one transfer window. I'd only keep Rabiot among all the chaff. A new contract offer for Bernadeschi bodes badly though. He's had four years to prove how useless he is.

Back to Miretti though. He would benefit from a loan. Fagioli looks ready to come back. Rovella is a bargaining chip.

Rabiot has a half-dozen good matches in three years and all of a sudden people want to keep him. Others call him mvp of our season :lol2:
I'd say he's slightly better than Sturaro or Padoin on his average day. Maybe he'll never play to his potential but not a bad option to have as a 4th or 5th choice.

You want our 4th/5th choice mid to be paid 7 mil net/year? :shifty:

If Rabiot was paid 2-3 mil/year I’d be fine to have him as a rotation option. But not on his wages. That would be ridiculous.

bonucci is gonna be an awful manager, calling that now. And he’s definitely gonna manage, he thinks he’s so smart. He’s gonna be like Gattuso, just a meathead. Chiellini on the other hand could be a great manager, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he passed on it.
I don't think Gattuso is a bad manager at all tbh, not great by he's defs solid, he'd at least get the players motivated and ready for a tussle

id imagine Bonucci will just argue with the players and alienate them
