Rocky To Reinforce Juventus?

Fábio Rochemback has caught the Old Lady’s eye as Juventus look for players to reinforce their midfield when the transfer window creaks open again in January. The combative midfielder, currently at Middlesbrough, could be one of the first to arrive.

According to embryonic reports emanating from Italy, England and Brazil, the Vecchia Signora is after three new faces – the other two being trickier deals as they are Chelsea’s Lassana Diarra and West Ham’s Javier Mascherano.

Didier Deschamps wants to plug the holes left in his squad after both Vieira (Inter Milan) and Emerson (Real Madrid) left in two of the summer’s big transfers. The Coach himself confirmed that there had been attempts to bag the trio in July, but the deals fell through.

“We really tried up until the last valid day to bring over a trio that plays in England. I hope that we’ll have more success in the winter and that they’ll be here in January”, explained Deschamps.

Rochemback is under contract until 2010, and the ex-FC Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon man is officially tagged at 12 million Euros, although this may be reduced if Juve include a cast-off in the agreement. Diarra and Mascherano may be more difficult as they’ve only recently arrived in the EPL.

are they saying we want one of those 3 names or all of them? the article reads that we want all of them.

i only want mascherano, i think he could be great in the future with paro. rochemback isnt bad, he isnt needed, he would be a good squad player if giannichedda moved on in the summer.

Rochemback is a better player than Giannichedda without question, so by all means bring him. He tackles hard, is smooth with the ball on his feet, has a decent passing range and a rocket of a right foot. When I first saw Rochemback with Barcelona years ago I was highly impressed with him and his talent, and from what I have seen he has not been bad for Middlesbrough. Actually I think he would find his niche in Italy with his style of play..

I would take him over Zanetti as well, so personally it's a no brainer... lets buy him.

Buffon

Zebina - Kovac - Boumsong - Balzaretti

Camoranesi - Rochemback - Paro

Nedved

Trezeguet - Del Piero

no zanetti has play 3 great games for us and the scores have proven it. he needs to be in our line-up, he helps take alot of the weight off of our defense which isnt that great

I was kind of planning for Serie A next year with that formation as you're right... we need Zanetti to give us that bite in midfield. However, Rochemback can provide that as well but I'm not sure I would give him a starting birth right away after we buy him.

Zanetti will be enough... i think dd has plans to buy players once we get our promtion up to serie A. Starting from the defense
yea zanetti is an experienced player and b4 pirlo was a regular starter for the azzurri...i think maresca and tacchi are not in the future plans for juve anymore
