Full name Ezequiel Matias Schelotto
Date of birth 23 May 1989 (1989-05-23) (age 21)
Place of birth Buenos Aires, Argentina
Height 1.87 m (6 ft 1 1⁄2 in)
Playing position Winger

Club careerSchelotto trained with Cesena since July 2008. In April 2009, his transfer was cleared by FIFA. He played 6 matches (out of possible 7) for Cesena and scored one goal.

In June 2009, he was signed by Atalanta in co-ownership deal. In July 2009, he was loaned back to Cesena. He made 33 starts out of 40 league appearances, and scored 5 goals in his first 16 Serie B matches in 2009–10 season. On 24 June 2010, he was signed outright by Atalanta and loaned Schelotto back to Cesena along with Fabio Caserta and Maximiliano Pellegrino.

He had a bitter Serie A season with Cesena, which the team once on top of the table but soon failed to win since round 3. He also lost his starting place on 24 October as the coach used Luis Jiménez as new supportive striker in the 3 forward formation. Since then he only made 2 start to replace Giuseppe Colucci (who injured) and Stephen Appiah respectively as one of the midfielders

International career
In November 2009, he was call-up to Italy national under-21 football team, and was immediately featured in the starting lineup in a game against Hungary U21 on November 13.

Since made his debut, he played all available 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualification matches, and unusually as right back in the last qualification match against Wales in September. That match Italy won Wales 1-0 and narrowly ahead Wales as the group winner. He assisted Stefano Okaka to score the second goal in the first leg of the playoff round against Belarus, but missed the second leg due to suspension. Italy eventually eliminated due to a 0-3 lost at Borisov.

We were linked with him during the Summer...then Moggi told us to grab him...and now, we are once again, apparently eyeing him...No point keeping Lanza in the squad if he is never going to play.

Of all the transfer rumours I have come across, this one seems the most viable. we have a squad player in Lanzafame, who, yes has been injured, but even when fit, does not even get a sniff of the grass. So it makes sense to me, that we would be attempting to swap him, pretty much, to give the same chance Lanza had, to another (Ezequial), who plays in a similar position, and is likely nowhere near a massive cost...
