Of course it's healthy and how is that pressure? And how is 16 to young to handle it? I thought you were all for self control and composure. If you have no GCSE then what's first? Right into A level? How are people going to handle them without GCSE? Does that they need to be relaxed aswell, and also Uni exams so you flimsey losers can cope with the 'stress'?

GCSE's are a breeze, not even a problem. If you cant pass those then you are just a dumbass. I passed with Bs in almost all subjects and I'm not the most intelligent person in the world and that was without any effort. I got an A in English and English Literature ffs :D. Make GCSE any easier and they will become pointless. Look at the pass rates. Check them out. Too easy in my opinion.

Stop moaning, do a little work and pass what are nothing more than basic examinations.
I mean healthy mentally, people here go crazy with revision. Im about to start this week (half term, though of course I did a bit previously for english since I had my lit. this week) and people have started months ago, seriously before christmas!

Im one of those hippie type people who is generally against school, but please lets not go into that. And no, its not that you can fault my logic its just that I have a couple of reasons of my own personal belief why.

Yeah, the pass rates are pretty piss easy. Im just in hot water because I suck donkey balls in maths, and the school policy is that one has to retake the year if one does not get at least a C in maths. Im sure I will if i do the revision, but there is always this nagging insecurity until you finally get the result itself.

I despise exams. The kind of pressure GCSE's are put on 15-16 year olds is anything but healthy and natrual. Its sick to actually heap so much pressure on such young people.

I am 16 though I am in a form with 17 year olds (I skipped a year since I passed this IQ test or something :wth: ) I think with the right time management and attitude anything is possible but really, this final year of school has loaded me with nothing but WORK. I have tuitions everyday except Monday and Saturday. I run a one-man show for the school's culture club. And everyday its homework, homework, homework PLUS tuition homework. I am happiest when it is Friday and all I want to do is sleep till theres no tomorrow but the next thing I know oh its Monday and the cycle begins

Sorry for the blab. Just a bit frustrated. I screwed my May examinations. My parents will kill me. *runs*

I actually had to do them twice. Not because I failed, but because when I passed my exams the first time (this was in 2000) I got 'promoted' to a higher school level (I don't know a better way to make this clear, not many countries have such a system). The funny thing is that the second time was easier for me, probably because I had already been through the whole thing once.

OK sorry, but it's not a strange thought when everyone here talks about their exams and you come in with 'I'm finished!'.

And what sort of college/university/etc. ends in may?!

Well...me?!

And Emma, in most other countries university and college don't have exams. Everytime you make a test you get ECTS points (the E stands for European) and at the end of the year when you have 45 out of 60 you can go on to the next year.

And my vacation starts on June 17th :(

last week there was a alevel geography exam going on and the fire alarm went off twice so everyone had to go outside in silence and line up, standing apart while a group of teachers had to watch them.

Same here. Passed all my written exams and on the 6th of June I will have my lingual exams. And after this, I will be drunk till next September, when I realize, that I don't have to go to school anymore.
    Did you pass?

    Good luck
I wish it was already done...
I'm starting with my 4 written tests (Italian, English, German + a test with Maths, Economy and French) in the middle of June, then I have the oral one at the beginning of July
At the moment I'm still going to school :wallbang:

I had my first exam at the end of the elementary school, I was a poor 10 years old nervous wreck :D If I think about it now, it was a joke, but at the time..
The second exam at 13 y.o. and this is my 3rd.
Then I'll have university and then it will be over (maybe ;))
