An Everton football fan was
killed by a flying piece of debris outside the Leicester City
stadium on Saturday as he awaited the start of the premier
league match, Leicester police said.

´The man was hit by flying debris as a result of high winds,
in Upperton Road, Leicester, at approximately 14.18 GMT this
afternoon and received fatal injuries,´ police said in a
statement.

They said the death appeared to be an accident and was not
being treated as suspicious. There were strong winds around Britain on Saturday and
several sporting events were either postponed or delayed.

A spokesman for Leicester said the club extended its deepest
sympathy

I was watching the Man Utd - Spurs match, and there was a mini tornado going on in the middle of the pitch for the whole game. Also, someone threw a green plastic bag onto the pitch at the start of the match, and it stayed on the pitch for the whole first half instead of being blown away like they usually do

Yeah, we had a hurricane passing over the North-Sea into the Low Countries yesterday. I was at the beach when it hit - am still getting sand out of my ears. :(

have you ever tasted Saudi sandstorms in the desert?! when there aren't any buildings in site, the temprature is in the high 50s (not fehrinheit!), and Hot hot winds that carry the eye blistering dust hits your face!

Now you know why the traditional headpiece was invented (worn to cover the face from these hot dusty stroms (the hot winds even have a name; "sumoom") :)

a little trivia in a sad  thread wont heart. :D

Aye, at least it wasn't warm. I nearly froze :D

I would have got off the beach sooner but I couldn't. It cost me 30 minutes to move the 30 meters to Residence Boulevard, fecking wind!

I got water for you! Check out the pic. To give you an indication: where that red and white 'lighthouse' is standing, there is supposed to be land and that's where I initially was before the storm broke loose.
