Can someone explain Kazakhstan in UEFA?
Kazakhstan is a bit weird, just like Azerbaijan. But it used to be part of the USSR and its biggest neighbour Russia is part of the UEFA too. Israel on the other hand lies in a region where every country is part of the AFC.

That being said I agree it would make more sense if Kazakhstan was part of the AFC too.

Geographically (technically) Azerbaijan lies within the borders of Europe.
I'm just curious what was UEFA's reasoning for accepting Kazakhstan.
Maybe they have a small portion of territory that lies within Europe, maybe.

My guess is that since USSR was part of UEFA, every association that came out of USSR was also part of UEFA.
