That's been the general opinion among a lot of people here ever since FIFA announced at the last minute that the play offs would be seeded.
But why wouldn't FIFA want Ireland at the WC?

I believe you'll have a case if you say that they wanted France and Portugal (due to Ronaldo). They made sure that the favorites will get an easier draw and won't get each other, and in the end, as it happened with France, the refs helped them.
But was it because they wanted France in SA or because they didn't want Ireland? I think it's the first.

I mean, why would FIFA let Slovenia go and not Ireland? Financially they won't get more money from the Slovenians and the Slovenians are even less attractive for the viewers than Ireland.

Because France are bigger than Russia. More jogabonito stars. Besides, everyone is biased towards Russia.
In Euro04 Russia got 2 red cards and finished last in the group, with one red card very questionable.

It's not that they didn't want Ireland. It's that they did want France. They are a "big" team and weren't supposed to end up in the play offs. When they did end up there, they had to make it easier for them.

No, he supports France
Big deal, why would he care, he will play playstation at home next summer, meanwhile Henry will most likely play in WC.
Because it's sad that Henry will get away with cheating yet Keane won't be able to speak his mind

But why just Ireland? I think the seeded draw was just to make sure the better teams in general make it thru not anybody specific. No offense meant by that tho, Ireland was the better team today

Yeah i know, but personnaly Keane wont care if he gets punishment. 2 game ban? Well be it then, he wont play in the world cup, and he knows that France will because of Henry cheating.

Kyle, I think curr was being sarcastic there, (fred) is from libya
Ok, I had no idea where Fred was from but I assumed Juve o'curr was attacking Fred for supporting a country he didn't live in. You can never tell around here with all the hating going on of anybody who likes Italy.
Americans don't get sarcasm. ;)
Whatever

Nope. They want all the traditional "big" teams there.
It's never going to change, UEFA, FIFA and most others in charge of sporting always want the big teams in tournaments to draw crowds and money. Platini is one of the few who actually stands up for the smaller sides with his proposed CL changes

I never said Keane should care, I was just stating my disapproval of how it is likely going to be handled by FIFA

Disgusting antics by Henry. Arrogant twat in the media, blatant cheater on the pitch. The man simply has no class whatsoever, and his actions tonight robbed the Irish.

As for fining him, that will never happen. That would be admitting the goal was illegal as well and would obviously call into question the resultl. FIFA don't have the balls to go that far. Plus Henry is rich and a fine is peanuts to him. He will be rightfully attacked in the media for the next few weeks, and w/e reputation he had outside of Arsenal/Barca fans will be more or less erased.
