Can somebody pelase tell me when football stopped being about merit???

The seeding of the European spots for a second time is fucking ridiculous, it's a travesty against fair play and chance. UEFA and FIFA are a bag of arsebandits.

No offence to anyoen in Russia or France etc. but you have no right to get an 'easier' draw just becuase of your viewership numbers if you fail to qualify.
What FIFA did was horrible especially considering the timing.

But I think you are contradicting yourself. First you say its about merit but then you complain about the unfair seedings. If football was purely about merit then the best team would win, irrespective if they're playing a big team or a small team.

Its unfair that they used seedings twice, that almost always gives higher ranked worse opponents, it's not a contradiction

I understand Greece being first but why Russia after France and Portugal? They may have looked atrocious in qualifying but the big European nations always seem to pull through when it counts even when they are having problems, if I were supporting a team in the playoffs I would much prefer to face a on form team as opposed to a traditional giant even one on poor form

IMO Russia are the best of the 4 teams at the moment. Also, a trip to Russia would be the toughtest of the 4 possible away legs. Moscow is a difficult place to come away from with anything. We've gone to Paris previously and done very well.
