I'm going to say something about the FIFA Coca Cola (even the name is a fucking joke) rankings though. What a complete disgrace it is. How can there be a group looking like this:

1. Slovakia 19 pts
2. Slovenia 17 pts
3. Czech Rep. 15 pts
4. Northern Ireland 14 pts
5. Poland 11 pts
6. San Marino 0 pts

... when Sweden, Denmark and Portugal are in the same group, as were we in the same group with Denmark and Spain for the last Euro qualifyers? We've played in every major tournament since the World Cup in France 1998 ffs, and what do we get for that? Competing with the like of Gabon for 40:th place.

Scandinavia had to pay reparations for 2004.

Subotic is a really good player, especially for his age. Mates of mine at uni are Dortmund fans and I sometimes attend games with them and he's been really good every time I've seen him 'live'.

Am i the only one who thinks its not fair Europe has just 13 places. Especially if there are 9 groups and each group usually contains a heavy favorite like Germany or Spain for example.

I think FIFA should think about this, Blatter fag has said before that the plan is to make world cup bigger event. So therefore i would call for more qualification groups with less teams in it (it also will reduce the amount of games and the players will benefit from it, since the schedules are very busy anyway).


Now i know some might say Europe has quite many spots compared to others, but my point is, each group contains a heavyweight, a team who could possibly win the WC. But a team like Sweden, Turkey, Poland or Croatia dont really have a realistic chance, so to just take part of such a event is already achievement.

The fact that in last 4 all teams where European in WC06 also proves my point here about Europeans competitiveness.

It is far harder to qualify from Europe than it is in other parts of the world.

I think the solution would be to have more play-offs between teams in different qualifying zones to try to ensure the best teams get in and not just fill quotas from different continents.

Europe has enough spots. The problem is the distribution of the teams across groups. Some groups have teams like Slovenia, Israel, Switzerland and Slovakia qualifying.

Out of those countries you mentioned only Sweden can feel hard done by. They were put in a group that had Denmark and Portugal despite qualifying for every major tournament since 2000.

As for Turkey, will they lost their place to a minnow(Bosnia) so they have only themselves to blame. Poland couldn't qualify in a group that has Slovenia and Slovakia qualifying, therefore they too do not deserve to be there. Croatia got beaten home and away by 4 goals to England, doesn't sound like a team that deserves to be in the WC.

It actually doesn't prove shit, considering the World Cup was held in Europe.

Look, we all know Europeans will not be settled until basically all spots go to them, but they have to remember they have their own championship.

Europeans need to stop whining, and I'd give them one CONCACAF spot for them to stop complaining once and for all. Seriously, such cry babies all the time.

Plus so what if the semi finalists of the last WC were all European. When you give Europe an extra spot, it wouldn't be the teams that reach the semi finals that will benefit, it will be the Turkey's, Slovenia's and Poland's that will benefit.

I'm not saying that Europe should be given an extra spot, but there could be a play off game or two between a European runner up and a CONCACAF team or another of the apparently weaker qualifying zones.

And it being a World Cup, Andy, means I want it to be as close to the best 32 teams in the world playing in it as is possible.

I don't care where teams are from, I just want to be watching the best, which is why I would have more inter-continental play-offs so we can see who is the best and, therefore, the most deserving of a place.
