It would be sweet to see Ronaldo crying & Domenech getting the boot.
Ronaldo will only be crying in his living room. He ain't going to the matches.

Which, IMO as I mentioned above, is a detail that isn't necessarily in Bosnia's favor. The guy has pulled an Ibrahimovic in the WC qualifiers.

Not happy at all.

FIFA going to put pressure on the ref in the France game, it's baltantly obvious.
I thought Ireland got forked the worst. Portugal got a "lucky" draw that may well backfire on them.

Portugal it is. Tough draw, they're the clear favorites of course. Our defense has to be at their best for us to qualify. We can score against them, that I am sure of, but I'm afraid C.Ronaldo and co are gonna have some fun with our defense.
Once again: a) Ronaldo may well be out or just plain unfit to play next month; b) Even if he was fit to play, the guy didn't score a single goal throughout the qualifiers. He's been a zero.

The guy Bosnia really needs to worry about, IMO, is Liedson. Portugal has in him as good a legitimate forward as they've had in over a decade for what has been the Achilles heel for the team. He's semi-competent, so with the service he'll get that may mean something. (Otherwise Portugal is typically 60% possession, 12 shots near goal, and 2 shots on goal straight to the keeper.)

It's no wonder that Portugal's WC campaign looked dead, and at the moment Liedson got fielded Portugal has come back.

Bosnia merely needs to out-psyche Quieroz. He's an idiot coach (think Ranieri) and players tend to play like crap for him. Bosnia could literally win the playoff before either team steps onto the pitch.

France... ouch. Still, you can only beat what they put in front of you... and we're unbeaten in qualifying.
France has their coach, which could be the end of their campaign quite easily. (Much like Portugal in that regard, actually -- Quieroz is a waste of flesh.)

Defeated by a country rated much lower than you are (Lithuania).
Forza Lietuva! At least they made their presence known in the quals. :shifty:

Forza whoever beats England on penalties in the first knockout round.
:agree:

Ireland will beat France because they are a decent team, with a great manager, and most importantly France are coached by a complete utter idjut!
It's still possible. Trap is a negative guy, but still 10x more capable than DumbAssMunch.

That may be so but with him as coach, I honestly see England being one of the favorites to win the damn thing.
If he manages that with his signature long balls & boring football,we might have fans creating mass havoc in the stadiums. In Africa the fans want excitement & fast flowing football.

I'm an EPL follower, and i tell you Ireland are as boring as you say they are.

I'd rather be watching flair players in the WC like Benzema, Nasri, Gourcuff and Ribery than watch the likes of Hunt, McGeady, Lawrence and Andrews.

Ireland have a couple of interesting players, but neither will play i guess.

Ireland and Duff are interesting players.
Duff will play. Why wouldn't he?

England is so much better than Ireland, its all just jealousy i believe.
It has nothing to do with football. ;) :D

Portugal is indeed way stronger than Bosnia, they play fast football similar to Spain, but they have tendency to complicate things with way to many passes and dribblings and that could be Bosnia's biggest advantage. And like Swag said I really hope that Ronaldo will play and choke again. It will be tough for us, but I hope that at least we are going to give hard time qualifying.

Another thing is that I'm glad we missed on Russia and Greece, while Russia is strong opponent, Greece know how to play on result, and I'm sure that we would lost to them by one goal margin. France would be nice to get mostly couse I think that we could cope with them, they have great players and no team play and shit coach. They are shaddow of NT they used to be, and I excpect that Ireland have chance to go trough.

Shit, I hoped Bosnia would get Greece.

I still have hopes for Bosnia, though. Against Spain the Bosnians had not less than 7 players in the starting XI with one yellow card away from suspension. Their coach Blazevic wanted to reward his best players by letting them play against the EURO champions, but at the same time these players had to watch out not to get a yellow so they didn't foul at all and they let the Spaniards score with ease.
Against Portugal it will be much different. It's tough to expect Bosnia to eliminate Portugal, but Portugal's defense will surely suffer a lot.
I know you like Bosnia for obvious reasons, but I prefer to see Portugal there, I am sure they will add much competition there than Bosnia in the world cup, the stronger the better the tournament.

Domenech knows what to expect from our 'England B' side

EMMET MALONE

Tue, Oct 20, 2009

GIVEN THAT his diplomatic efforts in the past have prompted some the country’s leading players to hang up their boots early – and there appears always to be at least one feud with a major star in progress – it should not come as any great surprise that France manager Raymond Domenech yesterday described Ireland as the “England B team” after hearing who he and his side must overcome if they are to make it to another World Cup finals tournament.

“We know what we have to do and that is the important thing,” said the former Lyon, PSG and Bordeaux player, who was also in charge when France came to Dublin four years ago and won thanks to second-half strike by Thierry Henry.

“Whatever the opposition I would be saying the same thing: that our only objective is to qualify. As it is, it is the Republic of Ireland and so now we must do it by beating them.

“But the best thing is that we know all their players because they play in the Premier League. Some of my players know them very well. There won’t be any surprises. We know precisely what to expect.”

Domenech acknowledged that Ireland have emerged unbeaten from a group that included the world champions, but he did not sound overawed by the achievement.

“They are very solid, very physical, but we also have these qualities. They are the England Bs.

The remark might come back to haunt him.

But it is hard to imagine he would have any future in the job anyway should his side lose to Ireland over two legs and fail to qualify for next summer’s tournament finals in South Africa.

His grip on the manager’s job looked just as precarious when he brought the French to Lansdowne Road in September 2005, however, with the qualification group still extremely tight ahead of the game against Ireland.

The three points secured by the French that night provided the impetus for qualification, and while a great many of the country’s football media then presumed that a poor showing in Germany would force his departure, the team, driven on by a resurgent Zinedine Zidane, went all the way to the final in Berlin where they came within a whisker of regaining the title by beating Italy.

Since then there has been the rather dismal failure of the European Championships. The team qualified despite losing at home to both Ukraine and, more ominously, Scotland, but it was in Switzerland that things really came off the rails.

A goalless draw with Romania was followed by tame defeats by Italy and the Netherlands.

For many, Domenech had played a key part in the team’s failure with questionable selections and his poor relationship with key members of the squad seen as having undermined the chances of a group that was already in decline.

For a while his future hung in the balance. In the end, however, the federation opted to stick with him for another campaign.

His employers are unlikely to worry too much about who they might turn to in the event that Ireland come out on top next month, but Domenech, they know, has surprised his critics before and few in France would bet heavily against him doing it again.
